This is REALLY cool.

Since Halloween is fast approaching, I thought I'd look around for some Firefly stencils for pumpkin carving. I saw the ones in the Blue Sun Room, and while they look pretty awesome I'm more of a traditionalist carver myself.

Low and behold I found these!

They are awesome!

On a Whedon related note, zombiepumpkins.com has Buffy and Spike patterns. The guy who runs that site is extremely talented and I've put in a request for Firefly patterns there, as well. He can't do every request, but if enough people ask, he'll consider it more heavily. He used to offer his stencils for free, but now he charges a minimal fee (three different levels) for a one year membership. The bonus is that he chooses a charity each year to which he sends his profits.

In my request I told him about all the loyal Browncoats that would gladly join up for some quality Firefly/Serenity stencils. So we'll see what happens. I'll certainly update you all if anything comes of it.

Thanks for the link! I was already thinking of getting a ZombiePumpkins membership this year (I've carved a few of his patterns and they are AWESOME!), but it would be great to do it as part of a Browncoat movement to request some patterns of our BDH. Shiny!

I get a membership every year. His are, by far, the best around. At least IMHO.

I've even given thought to cutting out some of the patterns on sturdy posterboard and fabric painting (or bleaching) a few of the patterns on some t-shirts.

But, yes, absolutely. I think if we can get a bunch of folks from here over to the Zombie Pumpkins site and bombard him with requests (he often asks for pics for reference, too), he'll get to them sooner rather than later. Especially if he gets a bunch of new memberships.

Would it help if we have some images in mind to suggest en mass for ZombiePumpkins? Personally, I like somewhat intimidating or scary images for my pumpkins. I once used an mphilips image of River with the sword and ax from the BDM to carve a pumpkin. It was no ZombiePumpkin, but it was definitely a great image!

What I wouldn't do for a great pattern of Jayne and Vera!

I linked a picture of the "Bwah" image on the thread there. Personally, I think that would be incredible if done right. And Ryan would do it right.

It's a sad sad day when I have to keep bumping my own thread But hey . . . seriously. My Firefly request thread on Zombiepumpkins.com is about to be knocked off the front page. It's WAY down at the bottom!!

I'm beggin' ya, folks. Please? Start pounding him with requests! Sign up! Get a membership! You won't regret it because A) there are great patterns on there anyway B) he supports a worthy charity every year and C) WE NEED FIREFLY THEMED PUMPKIN STENCILS TO WOW AND AMAZE OUR FRIENDS!!! And thusly promote Firefly to the masses in even more creative ways!!

Right?

I'm right, aren't I?

Right?
