Slept with the windows open, 62 Degrees Fahrenheit in the house this morning. Had to pull out another blanket last night, still wearing a 'shop jacket' now.

real rain that makes mud out of dust that sticks to the treads in your shoes and doesn't come off no matter how hard you wipe your feet and then later dries up like little bricks inside the treads and falls all over the house and gets ground into dust again. Couldn't make it to D*C, so went to the Ohio Renaissance Fair. Hot, dusty, not in costume, had a blast.
The Mud Show is an absolute must. Just be certain to check the bench for mud before you sit down, don't sit in the first ~5 rows, and NEVER wear white.

And for added excitement today's Big Suck includes a catastrophic failure of the hydraulic braking system of a fully loaded (cargo, not options) pickup truck while it was going down a hill.
Down shifting and parking brake (just like they taught back in drivers-ed several decades ago) kept things from gettin' outa hand, but the pucker factor was a touch elevated there for a bit.
Waiting to hear from the shop about how much coin (that I ain't got) will be needed to set the re-entry sequence to rights.
But the garage is a bit cleaner now.

So wish I napped... I'm really hoping the baby will have NV's napping ability and not mine. I stopped napping at 1 year and haven't really napped since ( I do manage it occasionally, but only if I can lie down in the bed and NV naps with me)

THE RULES FOR MOTHERS (according to my grandmother)
1. If the baby is asleep, momma is asleep (or at least lying down). Babies keep a schedule of their own, and you must adapt to it as best you can.
2. Disposable diapers are a must. "There is no reason on Earth why anyone should ever have to clean out a dirty diaper now that they can be thrown away." (The woman had seven kids, I'll take her word for it)

Personal observations:
Mini-Me gave off irresistible "sleepy-vibes". Holding the wee one when she fell asleep would result in a loss of consciousness.
When she got a bit older (2ish years), we would always put in the The Fox and the Hound when it was time for her to take a nap. It has some slow/quiet parts that don't get you all excited & such. After a while, whenever we would start the movie for her (because she was tired & cranky & needed a nap), she would cry, "No nap!" and promptly fall asleep on the couch.
Fifteen years later, I don't know if she could stay awake through the entire movie

It also has my favorite Disney song, "K-Blam! Elimination. Lack of education." I think that schools should spend a day teaching nothing but that, and how it applies to modern society.
