There is no current season. Season One (13 episodes) ran from September '07 to January '08, shortened by the writers' strike. Season Two (22 episodes) ended in April of this year. Season Three doesn't start until March, so you have plenty of time to catch up.

Why will season 3 be on March 2010? I was really excited to watch it too.

Basically because of Leno and the Winter Olympics.
NBC will aire Heroes at 8 pm on Mondays (as usual) and then Leno comes on at 10 pm five nights a week. Heroes will end it's season by the end of the year, the Winter Olympics will aire and then Chuck will take over the 8 pm time slot when that is over.
SO! Because Leno has taken up a prime-time slot . . . NBC had to do some major shuffling.

Frak Leno taking up prime time. So does that also mean Heroes won't have a full season? Ending in March is too early for a full season. Heroes has gone to the sharks. I don't even understand the plot anymore it's like they took a wrong turn on the storyline somewhere in season 2 and got eaten by cannibals. Never been the same since.

I agree. Heroes went wrong somewhere. Season 1 had it's flaws, but overall it was very good. They needed to keep Sylar "dead" for at least a half season before bringing him back. But that's what I say every time they "kill" him and they never listen to me
I've been very faithful to the show and refused to give up on it, but last season really pushed my limits. I'm very leary and will probably stop watching if things go south again.
Their biggest mistakes were the Maya and Alejandro story line and giving Mohinder and Ando powers. Some of the appeal was the fact that the regulars were interacting with those with powers. Now the only regular person on there is HRG.

Oh, good, you two, it's nice to see I'm not alone! I gave up on Heroes in Seasion 2 as well...it just lost focus and there's such a thing as overkill. It was the same with Weeds; I really loved that show, until about the third season when it got serious and started going awry. Then I'm outta there.
Well, Gordon, it's good to hear I have a few months, I'll definitely be caught up on Chuck before the new season starts (and then some! Probably be champing at the bit by then!). Thanx for letting me know!

I tried to stick with Heroes, but couldn't. Gave up a handful of episodes into S3. Just so horribly written, it's almost mind-boggling.
Though I still like Weeds. Sure the tone changed a bit, but the quality remained high (no pun intended). And it's still got Doug and Andy, so it's not that serious.

I believe there will be a full season of Heroes - a show can do 20ish eps in a row, with no repeats. The reason most shows last from September to May is that there are lots of repeats. I have read that NBC has said there will be between 18 and 20 eps this season (why, why? Give Chuck those extra eps! I gave up on Heroes mid season 2 like most folks)
If Chuck does well after the Olympics (fingers crossed) NBC could order the back nine - right now the order is only for thirteen episodes, but if NBC likes what they see ratings wise, they could order an additional nine for a full season... so be sure to tune in!

If the ratings stay high for Chuck then it should get its share of episodes.
I'm not a Leno anyway.

I say let Leno retire already. It's annoying listening to his lisp. HA.
Chuck deserves a full season unlike Heroes because they remain true to their premise and also unlike Heroes, Chuck has a clear storyline and objective. NBC just keeps Heroes on because they hope that it will regain it's popularity. I hope they realize it's too wrecked to be repaired.
