now when you say *worked*, are you talking in a maintenance, business (like management), or operating capacity? 'cause I just can't picture anyone in maintenence or operations (i.e. driving the train) having to wear a suit, but considering that would be dumb, it wouldn't surprise me if that used to be dresscode ><;;
the bf's in engineering and he wears a polo and khakis to work every day :P no steel toes though. (he actually has a pair of steel toe work shoes that look like dress shoes, but i think they're shot)

My father was a freight claim agent, like an insurance claims agent. He would go to train wrecks and investigate the damage and get repairs started. So he would be meeting with the persons responsible for that section of the rail line and the agents who represent any freight that was damaged in the wreck. So he would spend some time at the site of the wreck and that would mean he would have to have a hat to wear outside.
Some times he would bring back something from the wreck. I remember him giving a box of toy cars he got off one of the damaged freight cars. We moved a lot when I was very young. He would get transferd to different sections of the line. So we have pictures of several different houses we lived in during his early career. It is funny seeing the pictures of the family posing in front of each house. You can see my age progression from an infant to about six years old.

i don't have much of an issue with interview clothes, as long as they're not uncomfortable. i cannot abide uncomfortable clothing (Like my dress uniform @_@ *burns the dreaded thing*)

Well that was fairly pointless. He basically just said there are a bunch of different openings and if my manager will let me go real quick then he'd be able to get me interviews. Uh...so you want me to basically quit my current job on the promise of interviews? That seems risky. I'll talk to my manager and see what she says.
