If it was just the love story part, I'd agree 100%, but, IMLTHO since both Jake Sully (J.S.) and John Smith (J.S.) both are party to groups that are going to a New World to look for mineral riches and the indigenous population is the thing that stands in the way and that they both find themselves in love with the princess of the "enemy", I think the similarities start to run a bit deeper.

Don't you love how, besides Joss whose name actually starts with J, so many writers make leads of sci-fi TV and films begin with J?

Whoa, I little too much time with the kiddies have I spent mnn hmm ...

The first thing that went through my head was the cartoon Avatar- the last airbender, which, to tell the truth, I loved...

Think I'll pass on this one. The older I get the less I wanna watch oddball movies, my brain just doesn't wamnna strech that far anymore, sigh.

Wow, that has some stuff we didn't see.

So, wow, nice trailer (I caught it on apple.com, quicktime HD were I pulled some fabulously enormous HD screencaps for anyone that is interested). The visuals are on par with what I saw at CC (and yes, I am a horrible human being for not giving away any info on that, I'll be writing a summary of the 25 mins tonight) just not the luscious 3d we were treated to. The fighting, the mecha suits, Sully getting off of the ship and Sully and Neteri's moment at the end were all new. THe CG is a little less photorealistic than I remember, but I still think it's mind bendingly detailed and nearly realistic.

There are definitely distinct Pochahontas vibes throughout the whole thing. Though it will be 3 hrs long, and there will probably be no ballads and the Indians are blue.
