Call me weird, but I am happy having a moderately troublesome dog rather than the severe drama of my previous life.

Can't say I really understand the question. You'd rather have a troublesome dog than severe drama. So, are we just picking things we'd trade for other things? I'd rather have Jessica Alba than these darn student loans. :-P

I'm not used to NOT worrying about stuff. The lack of drama bothers me on occasion, but not enough to create more. It's just a feeling I'm not used to and it is strangely discomforting.
Not so much picking what we'd trade for the shitty shit, but what we have that is improved over what we might have had.

I guess I'm pondering one of those situations myself. There's a job opening in a different division of my company and I'm thinking it would be better for my career to be in the other division. The issue is the devil I know vs the devil I don't know. As well as job security. I have no idea what the annoying parts of that other job are going to be. Are they going to expect me to work 80 hour weeks? Is there any job security with that position? The other issue is I'll have to talk to my manager about applying for that job and my understanding is that it's a tight rope doing stuff like that. The manager has to consider that you could get the job and begin replacing you. If you don't get the job you might have just burned the bridge behind you. Such an annoying decision.

Took the plunge and asked my manager about the other job. She was amazingly understanding. She said that she wouldn't fight me if I wanted out. Which is pretty nice considering it would leave my current department really screwed. Oh well here goes nothing. I actually expect it to turn out to be nothing since I'm under qualified for the job, but who knows maybe they're desperate.

Yeah tragic moment this morning as I discovered the wretched dog had scrounged through the laundry and chewed several maternity garments to bits.... which required me to go to the store today and spend money replacing them ( dog has a weird destructive streak) To love someone is to see a miracle invisible to others.

Okay, weird Ponder this morning. I was remembering some strange things I'd seen and began to regret not laughing after they happened. Laughing at people can seem rude, but it is a natural human response. I feel like I missed out on something. Such a small thing, kinda.
