Interesting news Karma. I'm a bit of a skeptic by nature , but it would certainly be a welcome surprise. Is there anything you can tell us about your friend at the SciFi channel that's also fan? I always find it interesting to hear about fellow Browncoats doing recon behind enemy lines.

Not that I want to discourage anyone from writing in. (Please do!) But, I should point out that I've read on numerous occasions that Universal's contract stipulates that the show can't make return to TV for a several years.

Now how many years, and from what date has been is up to debate. It may be possible for it to return to TV as early as 2006 or as late as 2009, depending on who you talk to.

Of course it could be just another baseless internet rumor. So don't listen to me, keep writing. But keep it polite, of course.

The guy I know served with me , his father got him a job with the sci fi network. We just gotta keep on sendin emails and tellin' others , this show is to damn good to be thrown in a damn basement. Its very rare to come across such great television. We can't let the corprate machine win!

I would love to see Firefly return but I don't have cable...it would be great if they could do like Stargate and have it in syndication as well. That is the only way I get to see Stargate even if it is a year behind from cable. It's enough though until something changes.

Hey! Great News well not so good but a good oportunity! my friend from sci fi gave me an email address. He said to flood them with emails , asking for them to pick up the show. He said that if they get a large enough volume his team can make a large push to get it on the air again even make new ones! Welcome to the board BrowncoatKarma! Glad to have another fan w/ us, and an enthusiastic one for that matter.

You are a War of Northern Aggression reenactor? I know some people who are reenactors, but have never found the time myself. Very shiny hobby. Where do you call home?

The parallels to the loss of independence and the cause of the South caught my interest w/ Firefly too. I also like the western feel to the show. Always been a big fan of westerns.

Jeremy is right in this. My roommate was at Dreamcon this past and got to interview Jewel Staite (who was one of the guests). Apparently, FOX still owns the TV rights to Firefly, and the contract states something about no one else being able to put another series together for 10 years...
