Echo's behavior...spoilers

I was just watching True Believer and it got me thinking about how Echo acts when she has an imprint. I know some people have pointed out that Eliza usually acts the same, no matter what kind of imprint she has, and that is a weak point for the show. In the episode Echo is imprinted to be very religious, and near the end she goes hard core, yells at others to move there ass, and knocks out two guys. At first this appears out of character for someone who is as religious and peaceful going as her imprint. It got me thinking that this wasn't just Eliza being Eliza or poor writing, but actually really good writing.

What if this is more of Caroline coming out in Echo? We've already seen her retain some things at the end of certain episode (shoulder to the wheel, her name, etc.). I think behavior such as this, where she acts out of character for her imprint, is more evidence of her moving beyond her programming.

So what do you think? Is it brilliantly subtle or am I reaching?

No, I think that could be accurate, since we've seen how Alpha retained some of his traits without realizing.
