At least there's a pretty good chance it'll show up in English in England. Here in Japan, usually only the really big movies (like LOTR) will be shown in English with Japanese subtitles and only months after their release in the States. As the release date gets closer, I may have to see about a trip back.

All my life I wanted to be somebody. I guess I should have been more specific.

A trip to the us sounds most definitely shiny, sadly I probably couldn't get anyone to have the kids so I'll wait for the reports (using up all the "brownie" points with parents to go to a wedding this year). However, for those of us who can't, does anyone know how you find out when the premiere is, whether there are showings before general release etc, sometimes there seem to be in some areas. Maybe there will be competitions for seats at the UK premiere, any speculation as to which magasines/ newspapers would run one? Perhaps we can suggest to the "Independent" it would be appropriate :-)

Can't recall them ever doing it, but SFX might run something along those lines - or perhaps a preview screener. I smell a mass letter writing campaign....

A bunch of Browncoats travelling to the US premiere would probably be a nice news item and might help promote the movie.

Although the question is, what's the cheapest flight from somewhere in England to America?

If I get time I'll have a look at some flights on the web later just to get an idea of the price. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which part of america they would want to go.

New York, or some such place. I would prefer somewhere in California, but what with their earthquakes and all, that might not be the best idea... (Plus, I burn real easy.)

if people are going to be heading over to the states to see it, then it only makes sense that it should be to the official premiere. hang around to see our crew in person and all that, otherwise it might as well be at the hemel odeon or somewhere equally mundane. the expense of flying over to america deserves a little more of the glitz and glamour than just going to a random generic multiplex.
