Bring Me To Life ~ Evanescence

In tribute to the new songs for Rock Band 2. I love belting this song at the top of my lungs (much to the horror of those I play with...).

I like Evanaescence....I am convinced that Amy Lee belongs in the studio,and/or on stage with Nick Cave-with or without the Bad Seeds...or for that matter, any one of the Peter Murphy ventures(reformed Bauhaus, solo bits ,etc.)

The 'Oil and Gold' album by Shriekback

I was actually listening to Love Will Tear Us Apart earlier. I heard a bloke do an acoustic version once - he introduced it as a traditional Manchester folk ballad.

Beware of the Flowers ('cos I'm Sure They're Gonna Get You Yeh!), by Otway and Barratt.

I just hooked up a USB turntable to my MacBook so I can start downloading my old vinyl, and an old punk compilation called "20 of Another Kind" from back around 1978 was the first thing that fell to hand. Lotsa fun stuff, like The Cure's very first single ("Killing An Arab"), "Ready Steady Go!" by Generation X (featuring some singer called "Billy Idol" or some such, who totally stole his look from a certain leather-jacketed vampire we all know), Plastic Bertrand's "Ca Plane Pour Moi", and more. Ah, fun, fun stuff. Really takes me back to my misspent youth...

I usually don't like really dark-ish rock, but I love this song. The girl's voice is GORGEOUS, and the music is awesome.

Not to mention, after watching the River Tam music vid for this song, it makes me think of River.

I'm currently listening to Light on Paper - the Killdares. The lead singer's voice sucks big time, but the music and lyrics are so freaking haunting. O.O
