Well, I have had a really rough few days, but I am not immune to the beautiful part of the world I find myself in! I had to leave the job I thought was going to be 'the one' and that meant leaving my new living arrangements, so I fled across Devon to stay with my wonderful friend, Sue, and her husband, Nick - they live in Ilfracombe.

The weather has been lovely and yesterday they took me to visit the very picturesque twin-towns of Lynton-Lynmouth where we caught the water-powered lift down from the upper Lynton to the lower Lynmouth (Mouth of the Lyn River)

The lower part was even more picturesque than the top!

Today we wandered the grounds of the nearby, National Trust property of Arlington Court, which was gorgeous...

I'm sorry you've been having a rough time. *BIG HUGSES* Maybe you could come stateside for a little while and get away from it all with your extended New England family? Just sayin'.

On the other hand, it does look as though you've had a few beautiful days to enjoy with beautiful scenery in beautiful weather! And let me tell you right now to enjoy it! On our side of the pond it's been raining non-stop for almost three weeks now. I like rain, but I could do without this much of it!

Magda,
Yup, What Steamer said, you have lots of "family" here in the states. Also, your accent puts you at an advantage here for being a nanny.. folks think Mary Poppins and you get a leg up on the competition :D

Steamer,
Share the rain gorramit! Lots of water rationing and burn bans in my area, We saw our first real rain in about 60 days yesterday, the high sitting over us lifted briefly, but its settlking back in now ARrgh!

Browncoats are the shiniest folks in the 'verse

{{{hugs}}} Steamer... hold hat thought! I am looking into flying over for a couple of weeks TLC with my man... I really need some 'me' time and the agency thought it was a good idea to return refreshed and ready to hit the interview circuit again!

Art - thank you so much, Honey! I do feel like I have family over there! I laughed at your description of me being a Mary Poppins! I can't get away with that here! LOL!

I love those photos MsA!! BabyV has grown so much!! It's good to see all the kids growing and thriving! I love the one with the princess & the jester! Wy is such a dag!

Here's me, determined to relax, on a boat trip along the Devon coast today!

Edit: do you recognise the ring on my middle finger li'l sis?

Oh, and some more from today!

jie-jie, sorry to hear that the job didn't pan out. I think artcat may be right about seeking something out over here!
Rain? It rained here every day for several weeks. When we hit the solstice, the average temperature jumped about twenty degrees and it's only rained occasionally. It's the first time in years Colorado has actually seemed to follow the seasons. And it's nice to see our lakes and reservoirs riding high for a change.

Tis good to be back, and to have a new thread to come to Although, I have to say, I think our photothread count is somewhere in the 80s at this point

I went to Nebraska because my beloved cousin was graduating and wanted me there. There is one gorgeous place in the whole city of Lincoln, it's called the Sunkan Garden, and here's some shots of the pond there.

And, I have spent far too much money in the last week or so...

Oh Mei Mei! I wish I could! I would give anything to be closer to you! I absolutely love your photos of the pond and I am thrilled that you have committed to D*C... it is looking less likely than ever that I'll make it, but Boomer Goodheart is insistent that her folks told her I'd make it and they're on the other side!! I haven't completely given up, but finding myself jobless & without a permanent address again makes it even more unlikely.

Li'l sis - thank you! You're wonderful! I am still so upset as there seem to be new petty accusations every day, but the agency is still going in to bat for me, and they insist that the family have to pay my outstanding wages no matter what.

I love all the photos! Keep it up please!
