Okay, in Shindig, Badger strikes a deal with Mal to transport some local goods for Warrick Harrow. I don't quite understand this though. Why was Badger involved if he didn't want the goods, couldn't somebody who wanted the cattle contact Mal and have him get it from Warrick. I don't understand why Badger was involved. Could somebody explain the whole situation answering as to why Badger wanted to transport the goods for Warrick. Thanks...

I thought that Badger was getting a cut of the profit for arranging the deal.

The people who wanted the cattle approached Badger for the deal, but Sir Warrick would not deal with Badger, so Badger recruited Mal as his go-between and then got a cut of the profits.
