We have Kwicko bringing up McCain quotes as if that has anything to do with the topic at hand. Once again, because McCain called Chelsea ugly, it is okay for Letterman to joke about getting a 14 year old girl knocked up. Doesn't fly with me, besides, Signy already beat you to it.
Well, the reason I brought them up is because they DO have something to do with the topic at hand. Palin has said that jokes about rape are unacceptable, and jokes about a candidate's family and children are unacceptable, and both are off-limits.
Since Letterman says the joke was aimed at Bristol, we kind of have to take him at his word as far as his INTENT goes. There's some supporting evidence for this: Bristol DOES have a history of being "knocked up". So Letterman is joking about an EIGHTEEN-YEAR-OLD getting knocked up, not a fourteen-year-old as the right keeps claiming.
Also, I'd really like to know where all the "outrage" was when McCain was making fun of a teenage girl's appearance (Palin swears that it's damaging to young girls to do this, because they're so impressionable and insecure at that age), and where was all the "outrage" when McCain was making rape jokes? "Where is that marvelous ape?" - remember that one?
Palin says she's outraged by WHAT was said, but her claim is proven to be a lie by the mere fact that even after McCain said these things, she still CHOSE to be his running mate. She didn't put the feelings of women, rape victims, or young girls at the forefront of her mind when she chose to stand by McCain and try to paint him as some kind of "hero". Clearly her outrage isn't with WHAT was said, so much as WHO said it (Letterman, who had previously savaged McCain for stiffing him and no-showing on him) and WHO it was aimed at (her family instead of Hillary's).
Any claim otherwise is just so much horseshit.

I like that Mr.Nwear.
Here's a very recent Biden Blunder to add to the list:
"Avid train rider and Vice President Joe Biden, on a conference call Monday with reporters, mistakenly claimed that the planned Hudson River tunnel between New Jersey and Midtown Manhattan would provide a much-anticipated route for automobiles.
Problem is, it's for trains.
The $8.7 billion tunnel is among the largest new projects to be funded in the Obama administration's $787 billion stimulus package.
"Look, this is designed, this totally new tunnel, is designed to provide for automobile traffic," Biden said, according to The Record of Bergen County. "It's something, as you know, up your way, that's been in the works and people have been clamoring for for a long time."
The Record, which asked Biden the tunnel-related question on the call, called the vice president out on the error. The north Jersey newspaper noted that the tunnel would accommodate more New Jersey Transit trains during peak hours -- cars are not part of the equation.
The mistake is notable given the former Delaware senator's well-documented affinity for trains and frequent Amtrak commutes between Washington and Wilmington during his Senate years. Biden also inadvertently irked public transit when he warned Americans in late April not to travel in "confined places" for fear of contracting swine flu."
Now that's actually pretty funny.

How is Bristol going to get knocked up by A-Rod when she wasn't even at the game? Letterman made the joke about the Palin's attending the game. Not sure why you are so determined to throw up a smoke screen. You must be a real big Letterman fan.

Why should Palin be held to a different standard than yourself?

Actually its not. The Felony Murder statute applies. Killing someone, even accidently, while committing or attempting to commit another felony is still Agg Murder in Ohio.
Best you can hope for is to avoid the needle.
