Finally, after a few years, Fanboys has been released on DVD. For those of you who don't know, it's about four friends who try to steal the rough cut of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace back in 1998 from Skywalker Ranch.
Check it out http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0489049/
I got to say, this was hilarious. There were so many tie ins to Star Wars that it was awesome. They four guys were real, and I say this cause I've had some of the conversations they had in the movie (no, I never planned a heist, in case you were wondering).
Anyway, if you haven't seen it and you love Star Wars, check it out.

Thanks for the heads up!
Everything I've heard about it is great!
I had given up on it...
Figures there's a "very long wait" for it on Netflix...

There were a few bits that went beyond my tolerance threshold (I hope I'll be able to enjoy a ham sandwich now!), but I really loved picking out the in-jokes!
I loved how Hutch's van behaved just like the Millennium Falcon, with all the right sound effects, and how the lights flicker at startup, and he has to punch the ceiling, just like in Empire.
Loved the cameos by Billy Dee Williams, Carrie Fisher and Ray Park.
I didn't care for their portrayal of Trekkers, but I loved the whole Shatner bit, especially when the Security Chief at the Ranch asks, "Was William Shatner involved?" and everybody's shaking their heads emphatically! Also loved what he said after he got off the phone with Lucas: "What I said before, I no longer believe," and "Mr. Lucas is very impressed and moved by what you've done, and I'm told I feel the same way."
Loved how the guards at the Ranch are all dressed like the android officers from THX 1138!

I absolutely loved that. If I ever become filthy rich I'm so making a van like that.
I saw the movie in the theater as well and it was great. Full of Star Wars fans and the atmosphere was just perfect. It was a really fun movie IMO. I'll be picking this up on dvd for sure.

Carrie Fisher's cameo was the best, mainly because they did the whole "I love you", "I know" bit. I couldn't stop laughing when that happened.
And that van was AWESOME. I got a kick out of every time he hit it to make the lights start up.
I also like the last line. I've heard of some people who didn't like it, but I thought it was the perfect way to end the movie. It was a nice little jab, and not mean at all because everyone watching the movie still likes Star Wars, no matter what.
