the opening credits

okay, this is a stretch, i know, but bear with me. does anyone think it is possible that the opening credits are hinting at book's past? think about it. the credits are broken into three distinct parts. each part credits three of the nine cast members. part one has mal, zoe and wash. part two has inara, jayne and kaylee and part three has simon, river and book.
part one is colored brown. mal and zoe are both independents (browncoats) and wash is married to one which effectively makes him a browncoat (i guess).
part two is green. jayne (driven by money), inara (the business woman) and kaylee (basically a hired hand). a little stretch, but not too bad.
part three is where it gets interesting. part three is purple. purple is the color closely associated with the alliance. simon is a former doctor on a central planet (part of the alliance). river is a former science experiment (kind of crass way of putting it, sorry) of the alliance. does that make book formerly affiliated with the alliance?
i said it was a stretch, but what do you think?

You know, I gotta say that I never noticed that before, and I wouldn't put it by Joss to include something like that. Hmm...

You know you watch a lot of Firefly when........
Honestly I had never paid much attention to the different colors of the actors names during the colors. The fact the colors were different registered, but I never actually put any significance to the colors.

That's rather cool, if you think about it that way. Never thought about it.

It is nice to see folks getting the little subconscious clues that the creators put in the background stuff.
I LOVE those types of details. And ya know the devil is in the details!

Whoa. Good link.
Now, it's just that sort of hidden detail (either as a hint or a red herring) that makes Firefly one of the best gorram shows around.

It is my belief that Joss is taking a page right out of Henry V, where the King went out dressed as a commoner to survey the troops.
I believe, after seeing how Book received immediate medical care at the expense of the Alliance, that he is either a high-ranking politician, or some sort of Noble, who is out taking a survey of how things 'really are.'
