hey fillygirl and BC1- on the dog issue; tomato juice is NOT the cure! We did find a 'recipe' for de-skunking involving peroxide, baking soda and dish soap - helped some, but she's going to be professionally groomed this morning so all should be well!

Yeah... my previous contract ended 6 weeks ago and we agreed not to renew... she didn't really need a full time nanny. I had something lined up but it fell through at the last minute, and I have been applying and interviewing for 6 weeks now, but no offers...

Still, I might not have a permanent address, but I have some wonderful friends and family living in London who have been very generous and let me crash at their places for a few nights here and there while I keep looking, applying, interviewing! Something will happen soon! I just know it!

Sorry about the going-back-to-work thing, but hope it's helping! Glad you were able to find something when you needed it!

Wow we're all kinda economically crunched. I was really hoping to get a teaching job this year so I wouldn't have a 120 mile daily commute but it looks like none of the teachers are retiring 'cause their retirement accounts went boom...but like Sister said at least I have a job:)

It's amazing how the little things make a big difference, isn't it Li'l sis! The nanny scene wasn't this bad even two months ago! Now people are hesitating to commit to a live-in nanny coz the industry standard if 4-6 weeks notice when you end a contract and a bonus of some sort if you end it early. Also lots of people are not going through the agencies so they save on those fees, though honestly - I would go through an agency every time - they vet the credentials of the nannies they take onto their books very thoroughly and are really on top of who would best suit which job!

I have an interview in Devon tomorrow! It sounds like a lovely family so fingers crossed! Thank you for the love and support!!!

I'm in for the life of crime, but if someone we're robbing says, "You're with the Browncoats ain't'cha?" We gotta smile & walk away from the job.
Actually, if all goes to plan we will be as ghosts, no one will know we've been & gone until they notice the vault is empty. No violence, no yelling, not so much as talking from the time the car starts on the way there until it's burning with our gear/clothing in it & we're driving away in a different clothes & vehicle (if we're not getting enough to buy new cars & equipment & have plenty besides, it's not worth doing).

I can see this becoming problematic for the feds. Whole bunch of very clever folk with no legitimate work to do.
