When speaking as part of the Women in the Whedonverse panel at Orlando's FX convention, Morena Baccarin discussed the subject of ' V '..

"I just shot the pilot," she says, "which I'm looking forward to seeing whether I'm in it or not... I don't know if you remember the show, but I remember sitting up one night with my brother and we were both petrified when their faces peeled off. [ Thankfully ] I didn't have to do any prosthetics."

"My character's name is Anna," she continues, "and she's modeled a little bit after the Diana character in the original. From what I remember, Diana was vicious... She was eating hamsters and killing people. We toned it down a little bit and they're a little friendlier to the human race when they first arrive... I can't reveal too much about it, because the series isn't picked up yet. It's just a pilot and we're waiting to hear. But there's some sick stuff in it, which is pretty great."

I think Morena is brilliantly creepifying. The way she looks at you in the first clip, it's like her eyes are burning a hole right through you!

When is it coming on the tube?

I was there at FX Int'l. too and sat in the second row for the panel. I posted pictures of it all back in April.

That was some panel huh? The absolute cream of the beautiful sci-fi crop in my opinion. I was in a small corner of Heaven.

Spring 2010, is when we can expect to see Ms. Baccarin on our TVs. (As Anna, of course.)

Also, I believe Mr. Tudyk will be acting as one of the investigating FBI agents...

Seems pointless, Morena or no Morena.

I remember the original series, but it hasn't aged well in my memory, unlike usual bits of nostalgia. I got more disappointed episode 2 onwards because episode one was practically identical to the first chapter of "Childhood's End" by Arthur C. Clarke.

Can't anyone come up with something new?

Gotta agree there. I'm sure the direct comparisons will be made to the re-imagined BSG, but my guess that's entirely WHY this is being done. BSG was so good, why not give this a chance too, right? I mean, if they do what was done to BSG......

No offense to Morena, but the words " cheap " and " knock off " come to mind when thinking of 'V', some nearly 30 yrs after the original.
