okay, i am assuming no one can really answer this, but it is still fun to speculate.
is wash his real name or is that a nickname? on the cast list on IMDB, wash is in quotes ("wash" warren) which implies that his name is not really wash. does anyone have any idea what his real name is?

There was some speculation that it's Washburn, but there doesn't seem to be anything in canon, and Joss ain't talkin'... As a matter of fact, we're not even sure Wash & Zoe's last name is Warren. That seem right to you?

really? the last name warren is still speculation? i did not know that. well, i guess that makes sense since i cannot recall any time when it is metioned in the show. if warren is correct, that means that zoe took wash's name after they got married. i wonder what her maiden name was?

and, "no". that does not seem right to me, jubal. hahahahaha!

Nope, there's nothing in canon or the DVD commentaries/interviews with Joss & cast that indicates the last name of Warren anywhere. They also never tell/show us Zoe's maiden name. (But there could be a whole other thread just about Zoe's name - or lack thereof - and what that means...
)

Now, I'm betting that Zoe would take exception to being referred to as a 'maiden' in any way, shape or form. Matter of fact, I think if y'all called her a 'maiden' to her face, you'd be sliding around in your own slippery entrails before you could say, "please don't make me slide around in my own slippery entrails, Zoe." Yup. She's a corker.

Don't misjudge Mrs. Warren. I'll bet under the right circumstances she might just enjoy being called a maiden. Perhaps a fair maiden. An autumn flower maiden.
She may be a warrior but she is a woman and that is the heart of the matter.
She understands, she doesn't comprehend

I just kinda thought that Warren was his first name and "Wash" was his nickname. I'd never seen the name "Warren" mentioned anywhere 'til I found this place....

It's on the IMDB. Both Zoe and Wash's last name is identified as Warren in Torres' and Tudky's profiles. I haven't seen any canon for it, though. I'm dying for verification not only of that but of Wash's full first name.

If it's on the IMDB, then it must have appeared somewhere legit-- press kit, interview, maybe even Gossip Mag.
Okay, Gossip Magazines aren't actually legit, but I do find the IMDB will not add something unless it's been confirmed by more than one source. So I'll accept that Alan Tudyk's character is named "Wash" Warren.... and as for Zoe's maiden name, well, now you're just bein' Star Trek nerds.

She's admittedly better suited to "Mother," but by her own observations is lacking a certain prerequisite for that. And she's certainly no Crone (that's the one that'll get you shot).
