Which comes first?

someone told me today i was supposed to watch Serenity first. is that true? i watched the Firefly series, but havent seen the movie yet. did i go about this backwards?

Watching Serenity the Big Damn Movie should be after watching the series, although some of us were not so lucky to know about Firefly until after watching Serenity.
However, the name of the Firefly Pilot is "Serenity" - so it would be correct to watch Pilot Serenity, then the rest fo the series, then BDM Serenity. The original viewers of the aired broadcasts could not see Pilot Serenity until the last aired show, after Objects in Space.
