It has been one of those days. Hopefully they will be rare.

Quiz.

Name the character from this 1970 science fiction series.

Purple hair should give it away.

It was kind of interseting to watch as I had to let them take control of my computer and clean it out over the internet. I just sat back and watched the expert open up different folders and delete programs that did not belong. I certainly did not have a clue where he these folders were or how hw new what was a good file from a bad. Just new it was fixed after he guy was done. His name was Hindu, so I suspect he was doing this all from India.

see when the window pops up like that, hit alt+F4 to close it cuz usually hitting the X button can also let it in (i do alt F4 with all my popups, just in case, but this last one was loading so fast i just hit the power button cuz i knew i wouldnt have time, didnt even have to click it just started loading itself @_@)
what was the antivirus company?

I got Norton Symantec when I bought my computer. It costs me $50.00 a year. I get occasional updates when they have created defenses against the latest viruses. If your computer is acting up you can start a scan to see if any suspicious files are in your system. As I said earlier, when I had a invasion, I was able to contact them through the internet and let them take control of my computer. That cost me $100.00.

They are rare. I have been on the internet for about ten years without having to resort to such measures. The last invasion I had only required me to go to their site and download the cure. That cost me nothing.

But you did the right thing. Turning off your computer before the virus gets a chance to download.

My antivirus software upgraded recently and has a rating of the websites that show up when I do a search, letting me know if there is a risk, before I enter them. A green dot for safe and a red dot for risk. If I move my curser over the dot a window pops up giving me a summary of any risks.

u know, my comp does that, but i dont know if its one of my antiviruses or not, cuz the internet security costs money (once again, poor college kid lol), but yeah i get the warnings.

lol, yeah i pretty much saw the icon, recognized it as a virus, and went 'shit. when in doubt, power button.' i had programs open that i was working in, but i knew my comp would recover them when i started back up, so i dint much care :P just cared about my comp dying again ><;;

Well, I suspect you are okay if you can get on Fireflyfans and post. I wish people would grow up and stop creating these damn viruses. They are just a pain. All major companies have plenty of protection. It is us home users who get hit by them. I guess they create them to feel like they have some power.

Dumb is the word.

No has given an answer to my quiz.
Can you name this character from a science fiction TV series from 1970. Hint. It is from Britain. Only the British would think of purple hair.

Gaz, below, has purple hair, but she is animated.
