I'm thinking that if you're the proud daddy of ANYBODY, you probably have some idea of how that whole "spraying" thing works. And if you think your child isn't ever going to figure that out, then you're in for some very unpleasant surprises!

Hello,
The truth, of course, is that the Real World Event Discussion forum is its own brand of troll country. Posts here seldom remain civil. But as long as they are contained here, they do not disturb the masses of reasonable people.
I suspect it was easier for them to spin this in a positive light by naming this area 'Real World Event Discussion' instead of 'Political Bickering Containment Area.'

But please note: It tends to be right -wingers with the hate and the potty-mouths. Heck, the one time I typed up a couple lines of invective people were shocked! SHOCKED, I tell you! And why? Not because I said anything worse than Jong or Zit or Wulf, but that I said the same kind of stuff.
I think it's possible to talk about ANYTHING, if people listen to the other person, think about what they said, do a little introspection from time to time, and respond civilly. Unfortunately it's just not possible to have a discussion if people start name-calling and strawmanning and turning it into a bar-fight. At that point, the conversation has ended and nobody learns anything.

I disagree that nobody learns anything from a convo that's turned into a bar fight though - you often learn much of the real motivations behind what they say and do, cause sometimes hostility brings honesty, even when they don't mean to.
