I used to live in Oklahoma where a forecast of rain meant all day downpours and raucus thunder and lightning. I loved it. I used to go to the window and just watch and listen. And watch the creek behind our house rise and almost reach our back porch 
Here in Ohio it just rains, drizzles, spits and mists. The really good storms come at night when everyone's asleep. 
Not so much fun.
