what is the best evil plot to destroy/take over something you've ever seen in a movie??

all i can think of is the craziness of Fight Club, but Count of Monte Cristo, that was pretty well thought out on Edmond's part :P can't really think of destruction plots so much as escape plots (like the way kaiser sose (sp?) fooled everyone in the usual suspects, or the way thomas crown managed to evade a sea of cops and *still* steal a painting from a locked room, then get all the way to the helipad and gone before anyone followed him)

Interesting ponder. I'm mostly drawing a blank on it.

The movie "Heathers" comes to mind for evil-destruction plans... I don't know that I would call it "best."

The bond movie where the guy has the satellite that focuses the sun like a big magnifying glass. As far as I know we have no weapons system to take out such a weapon and there's no defense from something like that.

Personally if I was chief of state I'd be sending up tons of satellites with frickin laser beams on them. Once we have the ability to shoot down anything launching into space and we can target a few thousand targets on Earth at once we can just declare ourselves the United States of the World and no one will really be able to stop us. Mwuahahahahahahahahaha

I should really really never be president though. I'd be very evil with that much power.

Funny as I was just thinking that earlier today while reading the thread.

As for pure evil...I'd have to say Light Yagami from Death Note. Guy practically had the entire world at his feet, just by using a notebook. Of course, nothing is more evil than someone who truely believes that what they're doing is good.

I thought so too, in the beginning, only kept watching after the first episode because I wanted to see him get caught. However, as time went on, his pure genius grew on me. It's fiction, and contrived, but the way that he manages to manipulate the people around him is amazing. That is why he is an evil mastermind (as well as a psycho). I haven't reached the end of the series, mostly because I lost interest when L died, but I heard that eventually, someone will finally out maneuver him.

Mal said that there is nothing worse than monster that think's he's right with god, but in this case, there's nothing worse than a monster that thinks he is god.

(As an interesting aside, having watched the portion that I have subtitled, reading light's name using western convention is really odd)

He's not invincible, he has this notebook called the Death Note, which is the property of a spirit in the underworld (he dropped it into the human world on purpose for someone to find). every spirit (i forget their actual name, but they do have one) in this world feeds on other people's lives to survive, so when they need to take another life to sustain themselves, they write that person's name in the Death Note, and the mode of death, and that person will die of said method.
Light reads the Death Note's instructions and proceeds to start killing people, first villains experimentally, then other people he feels will get in the way of his work. he gets crazy out of control with the killing, but as no one else has a Death Note, they can't really threaten to kill him, that and for most of the story no one *actually* knows who he is, so they can't find him or kill him. Even so, he also carries a piece of paper from the Death Note around with him in case he encounters anyone trying to catch or kill him. (a few feds lose their lives that way ><)

Pssh if I were president that guy would be caught and dead in no time. Even if he's trying to stay anonymous he'd have to get messages out somehow. I'd be able to track him down eventually and then bang bang bang dead. Besides just don't tell him your name and he has no power over you.

messages.....for what? oh, and there's something called 'the eyes of the shinigami' *the shinigami are the spirits, finally remembered* where the shinigami, who can see all, gives the person with the death note his eyes, so that person can see what the shinigami sees, thus knowing everyone's name without them telling him. i can't *quite* remember, but i'm pretty sure Light makes this trade at some point (correct me if i'm wrong Rhyianan). so there u go.

Depending on the situation, they can save money on overhead, especially utilities.

If you go to 4 8-hour workdays, do you still get the same benefits? I would guess not.

Side note: About 8 years ago, the company I was working at introduced the option of a "flex week." You could work 4 10-hour days instead of 5 8-hour days. Most of the time, I was getting stuck working 10-hour days anyway (without overtime due to salary position). So, it was like an extra vacation day every week.

It was sweet while it lasted.

Hahahaha! I imagine they'd be almost impossible to make .. but its a truly awesome concept. (:

My favourite April Fool was last year .. my brother and his girlfriend broke up on Valentine's Day, remaining very close. At 8am on the 1st April, Emma rings Greg to announce she's pregnant.
What made this a real gem is the fact that they were in Uni at the time .. he hadn't seen 8am for years, and I doubt he even knew what year it was, let alone the date. xD

no Zero.... but it does make my students quiver with fear and cower before me, does that count

LOL awesome joke WuS:) Makes me think of one my brother played. He knows I have very bad vision and can't read the alarm clock so he reset my alarm for 3 am. It went off and of course I stagger through my morning routine get all the way ready and head down to tell my mom bye ( this was when I still lived at home during my last year of high school) only to have her say " what are you doing up it's 4 am" 2 hours later my brother gets up and says " Happy April Fool's"

WOW I'd kill my brother if he did that to me. That's hilarious now, but 3:00am is brutal.

Watching Serenity. Duh. :-P

The Austin browncoats what an episode every First Sunday. We've gone through the whole series again so it's Serenity time. Really can't go wrong with that.

ugh, i think i posted at one point that i failed PT for the second time last month by three-quarters of A SINGLE point, which was bad enough, but this month i have to go talk to the medics so they can interrogate me on why I failed, which I really kinda don't need right now, cuz they're probably gonna tell me if i can't keep up to standards (go talk to the people who are fifty pounds overweight, amigo, dont talk to me about standards, i'm well within) they'll have to discharge me (speculating, but they do discharge for that kind of thing), and my supervisor has already had to give me a Letter of Counselling (NOT good) for it, which is procedure, even though he knows this whole situation is bullshit. on top of that they already know i have a joint problem, which i've been working with on managing, and which the medics know is a nonissue because i got treated and better, etc, but i'm afraid theyre gonna be like 'i see you have a joint problem, are your knees bothering you again?' (chronic problems scream medical discharge) and i'm also probably gonna get a lecture about *preparing* for the PT test, which i had been until my test date, though it was kinda hard because it was way too fuckin cold to run.
I'm probably freaking out about it too much, but i dont like when bad things cross my path, because i'm very bad at dealing with them. I'm basically getting fucked over because i have integrity. almost everyone on that base fudges their scores (because they dont work out), but because i didnt, and i failed by a fraction, i have to go through this bullshit, and i just want to skip it and have it behind me. it also doesnt help that i have to wait until sunday for this, so all tomorrow im gonna be restless just *being* there.

*sigh* okay, i'm done. ><;;
