Quote:Oh they explained much more in the games. The movie (although visually gorgeous) was crap and didn't have much to do with the games. Pyramid Head is supposed to be the manifestation of the main character, James', sexual repression and guilt. He's considered the "executioner" in Silent Hill 2. Basically James' mind is punishing itself for his sins and Pyramid Head plays that role.

yeah i knew from other sources that James was supposed to be the main character and that he was looking for his wife and daughter who had disappeared into this other realm. Huh, so that's what pyramid-head is. was there a weird 'evil' manifestation of the girl in the games as well? what exactly *is* she? O_o

If you think her sig is disturbing...I would advise against looking up the series my avatar comes from.

Quote:Actually the movie was loosely based on the 1st game, which the main character was Harry and he was trying to find his lost daughter, Cheryl. The 2nd game didn't follow the same story line as the 1st. The movie only had Pyramid Head to add some fear to the movie and to appease the fans. Like I said, the movie didn't follow the story line much at all. Although the lil girl, Alessa, was actually the same as in the game; tortured lil girl who was sacrificed and this kind of "demon dimension" makes it possible to exact her revenge. Of course there is a whole long back story, but I'm not gonna go crazy with it, lol! Fantastic games, I think you should check them out. ^^

Oh please, it's not that bad. There's no hentai or anything like that in there.
It is a rather dirty place though, my mind's been rolling in the gutter for some time, I blame Navy.
And if you're really interested in the show, tis called "Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni", otherwise known in the U.S. as "When They Cry". These are some of the more...interesting scenes from the first season:

Had to stop about five seconds in. I've had my fingers caught in something before. Visceral reaction was too strong and I didn't want to see what was going to happen next. (I read the warning and saw "dismemberment" and then applied that to the "I wonder what will happen next" principle. Ew.)
But the artwork was fun!
NOTIFY: Y | REPLY | REPLY WITH QUOTE | PERMALINK | TOP | HOME
wait...what happened to your fingers? O_o
barkeep, some coffee and breakfast eats for the road please.
TGIF
NOTIFY: Y | REPLY | REPLY WITH QUOTE | PERMALINK | TOP | HOME
What happened to my fingers, you ask?
It was about 15 years ago.
You know how a window opens up and down in the two parts?
(nod here)
You know how they slide across each other?
(nod vigorously here)
Did you know that it's possible to get your fingers caught IN BETWEEN those two slidey parts when you close a window?
(make wincy face)
AND that it's really no fun to be trapped by the ends of three fingers in a window with the phone downstairs, no tools suitable for prying within anything like reach, the nearest neighbors about a quarter mile away, and the people who live with you just went off to dinner about ten minutes before that so you're the only one who can hear you? I did manage to free one finger, but the other two were not budging.
Luckily somebody had forgotten something and they came back about fifteen minutes later just as I was beginning to wonder if making like a coyote was a better plan than spending several hours like that and if I was going to lose those fingers no matter what I did.
I had excellent breath control and put every ounce of training into that screaming when I heard them pull up, let me tell you! It took them a few seconds to realize I was not engaging in primal scream therapy (interesting mindset in that house).
My fingertips were half their normal thickness when they managed to pry me out of the window. The skin wasn't broken and neither was the bone, I needed splints, they throbbed for about a week and a half, and the nails still grow funny, but I'm fine. I still flinch and look away every time I open and close a stuck window.
Then there's the agony of seeing your toddler get his delicate tiny little fingers pinched in a door that he's playing with. Then there was the time he was playing peekaboo with the door and his father (who was in control of the door), and pappa didn't see the little fingers in the hinged side of the door frame. I came home that evening to a note taped to the front door which read that my son was fine and they were at the emergency room. Smart man, putting the reassurance first so I would not incinerate him on the spot by sheer force of will.
THAT'LL make you want to take everything with a hinge to it completely apart. I'm a lover of archways and open cabinetry at this point.
So yeah, me and closing doors.. cringe every time. BSG had one of those moments that left me nearly nauseous and cradling my hand protectively.

sounds like the most awful adventure ever ><;;

HUGS Rosie.. I have also had adventures with fingers.. I was managing a day care and was trying to convince one of our two years olds that the vacuum was totally safwe...so I put my hand flat on the floor right in front of the vacuum just as one of the employees came throught the door, bumped the vacuum which ran over my hand, sucked my fingers into the vacuum breaking 2 fingers and spraying blood everywhere...... obviously a very successful technique for convincing kids ( that the vacuum is an instrument of death)

Not to worry, he probably won't need much help.
This is a child who designed his own treehouse.
It features electricity, plumbing, three separate structures connected by bridges, a swirly slide for quick escape, a reading room, and a gravity powered elevator.
Well I'D play in it...
Toothpicks are for picking teeth. I am not afeared.
I do, however, have a vivid memory of digging the end of one out of son's foot in the last year after he stepped on it barefoot. He was pale, sweating, and shaking by the time I was done but we both made it through alive.
... is it just me or is this turning into the "SR and son's list of injuries" thread?

number one way to identify a Ron Howard movie:

dad: yup.

and that's how you can tell Far and Away is a ron howard film, and Apollo 13, and Backdraft, and Cinderella Man...I could keep goin down the list, but that would mean naming every single ron howard film with clint howard in it (fyi, clint is in *all* of his brother's films ><;)

Barkeep, something strong and keep em' comin.
Bad day. One of those days when I look out the window and think, what the hell happened with my life?
Get like this every once in a while. Just a down day where all I want to do is sleep so the day passes quicker.
I've been unemployed for 9 1/2 months. So that doesn't help my mood either.
Worst bout of depression was on my birthday back in January (figures)
Went to the store to buy myself something nice to make for dinner, you know, a present for myself. Only one grocery store around here (there's only three anyway) carried what I was looking for, and of course they didn't have it.
Seems like a minor thing but it set me off. I didn't rant, not my personality, Instead I Went home and sulked. Ended up cooking hot dogs for dinner that night... Happy Birthday.
Today is shaping up the same way. Girlfriend asked me if I got into an argument with her father. I did. I know I shouldn't, he's 75, had a stroke a while back and he's not 100% there. But he can really push my buttons.
Rose and I came the closest we've ever come to having a really bad argument, Hence my current round of depression.
Tomorrow will be better, Least I hope so.

The thing is, after so many episodes, the story resets itself, while giving clues along the way to what's going on. Over the course of the story I believe they cover eight of the story arcs, the first four are known as "question" arcs, and the last four are "answer" arcs.

That would have put a whole different spin to my post that follows...

I read it as saltiness at first as well.
Crappy day at work, lots going off and redundancies nect door in the programmers office, who we thought were safe so everyone is a bit on edge at the moment.
I shall just have to focus on maths and my audition tonight, no point worrying about things that haven't happened yet but not fun.
*fixes self a cup of tea and wanders off to do maths*
no I won't, support call and it's not even my week!

I wouldn't call myself an Xbox gamer, just a gamer in general.
People who only call themselves one type of gamer are missing out, I feel bad for them...for five seconds, then I go play whatever system they don't have.
I just don't get why some people only stick to one thing, each system it's own merits, ups and downs, highs and lows, etc.
Take the Playstation, you've got Metal Gear, Little Big Planet, Uncharted. Final Fantasy Versus XIII, etc. And Xbox has Halo, Gears of War, Fable, Left 4 Dead, etc. Each system has their own merits on why you should play them, anyone who doesn't because of fanboy/girlism is missing out.

oh they play way more than xbox, it just seems they play more xbox than anything (to me anyway, i dont live with em so i dont know for sure), but between us all we have about three different game systems (though i rarely use my old playstation2 for lack of free time ><;;) and on top of that about half of em play WoW lolz.
lolz, does the word 'preggers' freak you out?
barkeep, short day today, but in two classes im not particularly thrilled about (who am i kidding, im not too thrilled about *any* of my classes this semester). sumthin to get me through to noon please ^_^

Barkeep, Call the kitchen and order up some steak and eggs (Sorry MsA)
Feel much better than I did Monday, that's for sure.
Rose has a Doc's appointment tomorrow to hopefully tell her she can come off disability from her Cancer and go back to work. (It's Wal-mart but it's more job than I've had for the last 9 months)
If that happens, money won't be quite so tight.
And the other good mood thing is I got Chicago tickets (The band, not the musical) for August on Rose's birthday. Cool beans. Love the sounds of brass and guitars
Oh, and I got over a little of my writers block on my fan fiction. got another chapter of Triad posted last night... late last night. Might explain why I slept in till 8:50 this morning.
