mostly I just hate how the wind makes driving so hard. You have to fight to keep the car on the road

Zeek sweety you need to go to the thrift store and buy a heavy coat to keep in your car for just such weather emergencies... right next to your gallon of water, flashlight, road flares, change of clothes and shoes, granola bars, maps, and first aide kit complete with warming blankets.

So, here's a ponder. Do you guys have any long standing lies that you keep going? What are they and why?

I have this one friend at work who I talk to cause he's ridiculous which I find funny. He's clearly out of touch with reality in a lot of ways. Though this also leads to some creepiness. For instance one time I was at his place he showed me this big creepy folder of all these pictures of girls he knows. I never put 2 and 2 together that he's more or less a minor stalker. Anyway I've told him about the friend of a friend I have a crush on and then it became apparent that he was trying to stalk up any info possible on her. He assumes since I'm so picky this girl must be drop dead gorgeous (the only thing he looks for in a woman). So, he was trying to figure out where she worked and junk. I was like holy crap. So, ever since I started lying to him about her being in a long term relationship, lied about where she lives and never tell him when she's in town.

The problem with this is a bunch of guys are going to see watchmen this saturday and worlds are going to collide. One of my friends who was around when crush girl was in town a couple weeks ago is going and so is creepy friend. So, now I have to be like "hey normal friend...if creepy friend says anything about crush girl here are the lies that I'm telling him". Seriously how do those people who live dual lives pull everything off?

They weren't stalker pics from the bushes or anything. It was just like every picture ever taken of any female he knows. Even cousins of his and stuff. Really weird IMO.

As far as I know he's never actually done anything dangerous. I really don't think he ever would. He's actually a pretty nice guy deep down. Though it's still creepy enough to me that he would try to find this girl even just to meet her.

Even cousins? And you're ok with hanging with this guy? You feel safe? Oh yeah wait, you are a guy.... he didn't show you any guy files did he?

Too far? Just find one of these women and tell them about this and see what they think is too far. I bet they call the cops and slap him with a PPO so fast it will make his head spin if they don't arrest him right on the spot!

And don't fool yourself they might not have been stalker pics at the time, but they are now.

I'm going to second Kelkhil.
Your friend is likely what is referred to as a "love obsessional" he takes pics of these women because it fuels the fantasy that he has a relationship with them. He is likely very fun and nice, but that doesn't change the fact that his behavior already set off a warning bell in your head and you obviously have some concerns or you wouldn't have felt the need to lie to him. I'd flat out tell any girl you know that he has pictures of... Also I'd bet anything once you tell the girls none of them were aware he took pictures of them... that is CREEPY and then some and you also indicate that he has a strong fantasy life " can't tell real from fantasy" those are the hallmarks of someone starting on the path toward a major break down. Think about it... he blurs the line between fantasy and reality, keeps a creepy set of pictures of women, is overly inquisitive about a girl you are interested in, doesn't have any serious or real relationship in his life.... I just describe a love obsessional stalker and the path he's on ends BADLY. If you think he'd take it well tell him you're worried, if you don't think he'd deal well... you need to tell someone close to him or someone who would have access to him and counseling. And yes I would tell normal friend that you like the guy but have some concerns about his behavior and you don't want your crush to be in any kind of uncomfortable spot. Just tell him to ignore or change the subject when she comes up as a topic, and you do the same. If creepy asks say you know that info's not really your business and it bothers me that you'd ask.

Sure it seems weird. It doesn't scare me though. What do I care if he thinks his cousin is hot? She was in a beauty pageant apparently.

Yeah I feel totally safe around him because I'm a guy. No, I wouldn't want any of my female friends to hang around him. Mainly cause I know he's somewhat of a pervert. If I really thought he was dangerous I wouldn't be hanging out with him. I'm going to trust myself on that one.

Oh and perhaps I should note it was a folder on his computer not a physical folder. If that changes anything for you guys.

They're not pictures that these people didn't know about. They're pictures like from bbqs or gatherings like that where people look at the camera and smile. He's also had a girlfriend for going on a year now. Don't ask me how he's pulling that off.

His out of touch with reality stuff isn't about the women and some fantasy relationship. His stuff is more like he thinks he's so smart he can do anything. There's some contest to come up with really large prime numbers (used in digital security). He thought for sure he could win this contest. He's full of ridiculous notions like that which I find hilarious. He doesn't even have a math phd. What makes him think he can compete with computers and math geniuses to win this money? It's that type of stuff not "I think so and so is secretly in love with me".

ok but still you are uneasy enough about his dealings with women to lie to him.. and you said you wouldn't leave a woman alone with him.. not a great sign and the fact that he kept the pics is definitely not normal behavior... so I'd just tell him none of his business if he asks about the crush. Tell normal friend to dodge answering questions about crush girl and that you're just trying to keep things from being a hassle for her:)

I'm more uneasy about the impression someone might get of me if they don't know me too well but think "he's friends with that guy?". Meh whatever.

So, back to the lies thing. Nobody else has long standing lies. Like a gift that you pull out of the bottom of the closet when the person who gave it to you is coming over cause you said you liked it even though you don't?

Most villians are unaware they are evil, just trying to do what's best for people and themselves.

Then there are those who perputrate villiany just for the sake of being evil.

Then we have people like her. Does good things and means to do good things but that evil side is stated as fact and not conjecture. Well, mostly. I think her mind just works way too fast.

It's a good thing I tell her just about everything. When she read stuff in past threads about her having -1000 work ethic and being a horrible gift giver at least they're things I say to her face Now let's just hope other friend doesn't stalk up this page or he'd probably feel bad.

OMG I hate financial idiots. We go and lay people off and then turn around and contract the work out and then they come back and complain to use about the bill. Well morons you were working a salaried employee to death without having to pay overtime. Now you have to pay for that. This is your fault not ours.

Sounds like a huge issue the government has had for a very long time. Security supplied by civilian contractors is so far more expensive than having regular military do it. Yet there is so much spent on civilian contracts for not only security but communication, human services, and construction at an inflated rate. But that is the way special interests go. Give the contract to your buddies company and let them make some money. We have that here. The Good Ol' Boy System. Substandard work, inflated cost, and renewal of contracts are a regular occurance in the Good Ol' Boy System.

Well to make our system even more ridiculous it's not actually external contractors. It's really just another department in the same company but since we don't own the people we have to pay for the work as they size it. So, they decided to lay one person off from one department in order to ship money to some other department for the same work and pay for like 3 of their people. I'm sure they're all patting themselves on the backs over how much money they saved too.

After seeing watchmen I wouldn't really say it's too unfair that it got rated 18. It wound have earned that rating based on the amount of nudity and sex on top of the violence I imagine. Violence doesn't get ratings as high as it used to on its own. Though it is pretty violent.

As for the protective older brother thing, as an older brother I can say, tis cause we actually do think we're doing good. Though by most standards I'm a very unprotective older brother.

I'd say that it got the rating it deserved. This woman brought her two kids to see it, not sure if she knew what it was about or not, but they couldn't have been more than 5 and 7 years old.

OMG I thought the same thing, ZEROKIRYU. There were little kids all over the place in my theater and I was like "holy hell this is violent". Parents should have been grabbing their kids and leaving pretty darn early in that film.

I'm glad I'm desensitized to violence though. Cause some of those scenes were pretty brutal. That is a guy's night movie if I've ever seen one though. I won't ruin it but some of those scenes were like blatant "guy's perspective!!!" scenes.

yeah getting it checked will let you figure out what you're allergic to so you can avoid it and give you meds that will make you feel better... as long as it's not a severe reaction you don't have to medicate it, but if your lips feel numb or your tongue swells go to the ER
