A classic sci-fi film in my opinion: Any film that has an important message to convey, visually pleasing and a strong cult like devotion by fans of it.

Serenity certainly fits.

Yes, it is my favorite Spielberg film. And did you know it's the only film that he directed, and wrote? Talent.

I agree their lack of remorse is a bit troubling.

I don't hate the sequels like many do. I don't enjoy them nearly as much as the first, but I really appreciate the ambition of trying to turn a pair of massive action tentpole movies into philosophical arguments. I do think it is the best example ever of creators not really recognizing what made the first popular, and thus not delivering on those expectations in the follow-ups. But still, I greatly admire the sequels, even if I don't enjoy them all that much.
