Up to the end of Season Three I would have agreed with you, but since then it has definitely run off the rails. I have stopped using the phrase "jumped the shark" to describe a show that has done something horrible to the plot and/or characters. The new phrase is "joined the circus."

I've very much enjoyed what I have seen of Supernatural, but that didn't happen as it aired. Not sure why, but it took me a while to start it on dvd, and have just recently finished with Season Two. I'm going to watch the first disc of Season Three today.

SUPERNATURAL - Always delivers. Best special effects, best characters, Best cinematography and great plot arcs. Solid stories too!
LOST - Well it's just one of those shows that has you gripped, but I must admit you have to be into that kind of show (Long plot arcs). I know friends who hate it just because they don't know what's going to happen. Strangely that's why I love it.
SMALLVILLE - For sheer tv fun I like this show. It's pretty straight forward but the character dynamics are superb. Erica Durance has interpreted Lois Lane to perfection. Lex Luthor has been warmly explored as an individual, and Tom Welling's Clark Kent comes off as a wonderful tragic hero. Always saving the day but paying the ultimate price for it. Plus SMALLVILLE has the best stunts on tv!!!!
BONES - Again straight forward but the two leading characters are engaging. It has it's weaknesses with some of the stories but it's a very enjoyable 45mins. Oh and I'm liking Sweets. The way Booth tears into him for being so young is hilarious!
Gave up on FRINGE after 7 episodes, Battlestar Gallactica and Heroes after there first seasons.

Battlestar Galactica: Hands down best drama on TV right now. Stopped watching Heroes season 2. The Office and 30 Rock are excellent comedies but you just can't beat BSG.

the only thing that has really hooked me recently is Dexter. I will occasionally catch and enjoy an episode of something else, but given the choice I'll always watch - make the effort to watch - Dexter.

Seconded. I've sat through 3 eps of Dollhouse now, and I found the second to be better, but the third was damn near unwatchable for me. Honestly, I love Joss to pieces, but I'm NOT getting into Dollhouse at all. I find myself rolling my eyes, and even occasionally cringing - actually CRINGING! That's never going to be a good sign for any show...
