Nope, it was you who told me it'd get better with Pollo when I was ready to bail on the first season. I havn't even discussed the show with anyone else (bought both seasons on your recomendation, if you'll recall).

And it did improve with that ep. But the show, while entertaining.... was just a show. Nothing classic about it, other than a certain well-shaped behind.

That's not quite like saying "the first season doesn't really come together untill Pollo Loco." I said that it kicked into a higher gear, meaning that if you hung in there that long, the best eps were yet to come.

Examples? Okay, the hip-hop speak was very forced, and now dates the show horrible. The acting was often mediocre. Plots were, to me, unmemorable (as I watched the whole series less than 6 months ago, and barely remember any of it outside a few episodes). Most of the supporting characters were forgettable or annoying. It, at times, tried too hard to be the next Buffy, especially with the not-very-funny one liners.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't dislike it. I liked Max and Logan quite a bit. I liked the story with Zach, though I thought the actor they cast was lousy. The second season started weak (the Haloween episode nearly made me give up), but did get better. I even rather liked Joshua as a character (even if the plots they created for him were dumb). It was a fun enough show, but by the end I wasn't itching for more, and there are many, many shows I think are better.

Hmmm, well, I guess it's like a cloud dog, either you see it, or you don't. I didn't see very much (some, yes) of what you're talking about.

I haven't bothered to read what everyone else has said yet, so I will probably be repeating someone.

If you want to judge tv series on just their first two episodes, then I would agree with you that Dark Angel beats Dollhouse. Of course we need to wait a bit more to see how the latter develops.

I think if Cameron had kept more control over his show we wouldn't have seen the much weaker second season, but the last few eps were awesome and set up what could have been a very good Season 3.

I trust Joss knows what he is doing and where he wants to take the show. Not so much trust in FOX to let him get there though.

Although I am a DA fan, I cannot refute that the ghettospeak was the downfall. Cringeworthy. Without that garbage, I'd watch it more frequently (own the DVDs.)
