Heart of Gold 'Oh Wow' Moment

Hi, Sorry if this has been discussed in an earlier thread but...

Just watching heart of gold ( and each time i do i find one more glance between mal and inara that just breaks my heart ) and during the scene where mal goes to get the measure of Burgess there's a shot of a shadow play.

Till now i just made a note of it and thought of Alan's whole wash as puppet master backstory but today i noticed that the thing that what i thought where birds where leaving was earth ( yes, I am that slow ) and, what's more, a few seconds later (11:00 minutes into the show according to my DVD player ) there's a shot of Burgess on the right side of the screen and behind him you can see the shadow theater screen on which something that looks a heck of a lot like a Firefly class ship can be seen ( for a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment )

Going back the 'birds' i thought i saw in the first shot now look a lot more like ships and i'm wondering if the story being told isn't the one of earth that was, at least the bit where we left her behind and headed out into the 'verse.

Has anyone else noticed this and if so, has anyone translated what the narrarator is saying?

And if not, Am i just seeing things?

Dang, I can't find the link to where the scripts are posted on this site...anyway, the script does have an addendum with the description and narration that goes with the shadow puppet play from this episode.

(If it doesn't get posted by someone else, I'll try to find a link later!)
