Brownocoats shindig today from Northern Vermont, but I will bring my laptop along with me so if I do get any oportunities to be around a free wi fi internet connection I will vump. Do the New Hampshire rest areas offer free wi fi like Vermont's does?

It would appear the truce is over. After 12+ hours with about 50 votes for both, combined, during the next 18 hours or so the totals went up by over 650 votes. Makes a difference, I guess, when their lead voter gets his computer virus cleaned up and is back and voting!

We gained 324 votes on Jericho in the last seven days.

We gained 176 votes on Jericho last week (151 the previous week). Overall the total vote at the beginning of the week is Jericho 45914 (44672 last week), Firefly 44127 (42709 last week) We are 1787 behind, versus 1963 a week ago. A year ago, we were ahead. Over the last few weeks, we have been closing the gap.

The absentee operator of TVTally, or someone with sysadmin privs, showed up in January to do some site maintenance. Several things have changed. First, the cookie monster has been tamed somewhat. By using a browser with cookies turned off, you can now only vote three times for one show every six hours, not six times. Second, the message boards have disappeared. This was the only way, in theory, for the site admin and users to communicate (no one ever responds when tvtally@gmail.com is used). Now it's all gone (and I posted the last message, last November, I hope that wasn't the cause). Thought there was a third fix, but no. The weekly totals are not yet correctly returning to zero, but they are returning to some older dataset. This nonsense began in January, where tvtally weekly numbers first did not roll over to zero. Instead what showed up was larger numbers, with Jericho in the lead. Many other shows got numbers other than zero. This does not have any impact on the overall totals. It's just confusing.

If you turn off cookies on your browser, when you go to TVTally, you can vote up to three (used to be six) times (and for more than one show, or all for one show). You can also vote more than once in six hours (unpredictable, tends to happen early in the day, and after 6 PM). Some consider this cheating, some don't. Either you're a cookie monster, or you ain't.
