Hi!

I spend very little time in this area of the website, but i think this is where i need to go with this question.

How to I pull screen grabs (still images and clips) from a DVD?

I need to make a video thing. I have Windows Media Maker (or video maker or whatever its called) i just have no idea how to get the clips from my DVD to my video.

Any help for s fellow browncoat? Please?

Try doing a Google search for "screen capture programs" and that should lead you to something. That's where I got mine from, which was a 30 day free trial, which expired. *grumblegrumble*

One thing though, and it took me a few pitch black pictures to figure it out, is when you use most of those programs you have to disable your video card's hardware accelleration so it doesn't take a shot of one of the blank layers on the DVD image.

That's for stills, if you want to get actual moving video clips from a DVD then you can use...hmmm forget what the actual name of it is, it came with my Paint Shop Pro, think it's called Animator. I've made some movies in the past with it that turned out pretty well, but if you don't compress the clips you can wind up with some pretty large files so make sure you have plenty of hard drive space open.

Well I use Power DVD on the computer and it is great, it so Easy to get screen grabs - I'm still not sure how to put them on this site though - but im working on it
