Okay Ems, you are hot and frankly a little intimidating for geekdom guys. Seriously intimidating (which is actually hot for aggressive guys who know better) and warrants serious gratitude from a strong and assertive (verbally and physically) man. Never fear, there are many out there ready and willing. He might be right in front of you and might not share exactly the same interests. Try finding a guy who knows how to read but doesn't usually get the time to do so. Trust me, a guy like that mixes fantasy and reality for a happy good time every chance he gets.

Ahh! Thanks you guys! You always know when a girl is feeling a bit low and in need of some flattery. I was a bit depressed about how the date finished yesterday. I mean we have what I felt was a really great time and he gave me flowers and everything and then at the end he came out with a blurble about how he was already seeing a girl who he could do sophisticated things with like go to the theatre and discuss literature but that he was hoping for a friend that he could indulge his fun side with. I of course instantly start to wonder why I come across as foolish and unsophisticated! He also put his foot in it by saying that he had been nervous about meeting up with an older woman (there must just be a few months between us!)

Ah well, if it's not meant to be, ce la vie! I'll keep looking.

Thanks for the pick my up though. You're both so very sweet.

the bar moves because this forum doesn't divide the threads up into pages, so when a thread gets long it gets unwieldy. There are a lot of theme threads around this site that have dozens or maybe hundreds of incarnations after going for years.
