Yeah, they claimed to be in Duluth, Minnesota, once too. I didn't see anything that looked remotely like the hill-side city of Duluth, the Razorbacks, or even what might pass for stock footage of Lake Superior. An exterior of a shoreline in Vancouver would have sufficed.
One scene was supposed to be down on the "waterfront", except it was wooden, and none of those exist in Duluth anymore.
Oh well. As we all know when it comes to shows that have to have some effects from time to time, the budget can't always run toward things like location authenticity.
I didn't see the scene with Dean, Cybersnark, but I did see the episode where Sam ditched on a studio tour in "Hollywood" when they were headed for the Gilmore Girls' set - the show where Sam played Rory Gilmore's first boyfriend who, coincidentally, was named Dean.
Sam started out with absolutely no knowledge of horror movies. Dean, on the other hand, calls the horror movie genre their "culture".

For me this is the best show currently on the air. Unlike many other series this has not lost it's direction. The only hiccup was during season 3 and much of that can be blamed on the writer's strike. I still regard season 1 as nearly perfect. Many people prefer season 2, which I understand, but I really liked Sam and Dean reconnecting while taking the audience on a road trip through their world.
The current season has really ramped up the tension. The structure has reminded me of what occured during seasons 1 and 2. While there is an overriding main story we still get some interesting stand alone episodes. This is not to be confused with what are called filler episodes, these are still very high caliber stories.
I am very anxious to see how the main conflict of this season plays out, and where the series can possibly go if there is a season 5.

Sounds like I didn't miss much.
Supernatural, on the other hand, totally different story, since I know what happens at the beginning of season 4.

Supernatural is a very smart and engaging show. It seems to be very good at understanding it's limitations and has played very well within that. It's unusual for a show this good to be focussed on just two characters - you'd think the dynamic would have ebbed away. Yet here I am in the middle of season four and still hooked.
Best thing about this show is that it doesn't pander to contrivances. It's very honest with itself. Even if a visiting character is good to watch, they're not afraid to be done with them if the story so demands.
..and it can be incredibly funny! Anyone seen the Ghostfacers episode? Man that was hysterical. (I won't spoil don't worry)
Anyway. Really enjoying this show. It's up there with the best of them, certainly a great slice of sci-fi/horror tv and for once they have given the genre the respect it deserves by accommodating a suitable budget to the production.
I too heard it would run only for five seasons. I think that's more than sensible. If they end it all at the current level, it will most certainly go down as one of the greats.

Not so far. I think Burn Notice is just leaving it's infancy and hence starting to get somewhere's. Both have a wonderful sense of humour, Burn Notice maybe just edging it because of Bruce 'Legend' Campbell and superb comic timing, but really when Supernatural goes funny it's really up there with the best.
I see no definative void in either show, I think it all depends on your kink for a genre. I gravitate to fantasy more than espionage but then that's just my slant. My bro would go the other way. Thereafter all the buttons are pushed. I suppose the arc of Burn Notice is a little more conventional, where as Supernatural is exploring the theological and to some extent the existential - which is always fun.
They're so different though it's really hard to call. Both are superb. What say you?
