Can't find a story- please help!

So, for months I've been trying to find again an awesome story that I read. It was mainly about Wash, and managed to make it so that he didn't actually die in BDM. Instead, a clonish person had taken over his life, while he was stuck in a prison in some random planet. After the events of BDM, our heroes eventually find and liberate him. I believe that the author also wrote some good Origin of Wash stories, involving giant, mechanical walking dinos. Anyone know who I am talking about? Thanks!

Could it be "Wish I was Someone else" by nauticalgal? She also wrote "The Legacy of Uncle Jack". Hope that helps.
