I threw a cricket stump (Americans you can look that up) at someone's legs in an attempt to imitate TJ Hooker throwing his truncheon. I was very lucky I didn't break his legs and got into a lot of trouble for making them severely bruised.
That too seemed like a good idea at the time as he was a faster runner than me and the point of the game was to catch him.

Hi, y'all

Getting back on topic for just a moment, has anyone here seen Broken Trail, Starring Robert Duvall? It's the perfect Browncoat Western, 'though not set in space:

"Set in 1898, Print Ritter and his estranged nephew Tom Harte become the reluctant guardians of five abused and abandoned Chinese girls. Ritter and Harte's attempts to care for the girls are complicated by their responsibility to deliver a herd of horses while avoiding a group of bitter rivals intent on kidnapping the girls for their own purposes."

This was a TV Movie, but definitely Theatrical Release quality. I loved that I actually knew a little of the Chinese. See? All that Firefly is good for something!

Just saw Seraphim Falls a couple of weeks ago and I really really liked it. It was beautifully made. What sets it apart from the other western movies I've seen is that I was never able to just root for one side... Not even after the story ended. Youre right though.. there is something eerie about it.

I'd recommend "The Outsider" (Naomi Watts , Tim Daly , and Keith Carradine). More of a Love Story than a straight up western. I think it's a made for TV movie without the "big budget" or a big shot movie director but for some reason.. it does the trick for me. I think my big crush on Naomi might have something to do with it.
