Wonderfalls on DVD looking likely??

Just saw this on tvshowsondvd.com. Looks like Fox might actually be putting all the filmed Wonderfalls episodes into a DVD set. I wasn't much of a Wonderfalls fan, but I know a lot of the browncoats here are, so I thought you guys might like to know!

I can't understand why a Firefly fan would nock Wonderfalls. Honestly Wonderfalls got a lot more critical acclaim than Firefly and had even worse treatment from Fox than what Firefly got. Firefly fans should be able to empathies with Wonderfalls fans instead of knocking there show. Firefly fans hate it when Firefly gets judged on a very superficial level, yet here we have a Firefly fan using the same kind of judgment on Wonderfalls.

This thread should be for people to celebrate this good news, not for people to post immature negative comments about Wonderfalls. I'm a huge Wonderfalls fan and think this great news. A Wonderfalls DVD set will sit nicely next to my Firefly and Freak & Geeks DVD sets.

I Loved both shows

Downloaded all the Firefly eps, then bought four sets when they were finally released.......
( 3 as gifts )

So far I have downloaded every Wonderfalls ep I can find, and will buy at least one DVD set.

All the good TV seems to be going away..............

Humble:

Obviously, you are not very familiar with the show, or you woud know that there were 13 episodes produced (only four aired). With all of the extras that they're talking about, that would mean they'd need at least four disks, just like Firefly. The only downside they mentioned concerning the Wonderfalls release is that they would have to replace some of the more expensive music. Fortunately, since we never even got to see 9 of the episodes, we fans won't know the difference.

Thanks for the well thought out and non-hostile responses to my posting.

Quite to the contrary, I did watch the aired eps. First one being aired at midnight after being pre-empted by high school basketball or some such thing. Fox, as usual, giving the shaft to it's shows.

I liked Bill Sadler as the Father in the show, he's a good actor. The lesbian sister showed promise. The Mother was forgettable. Now, the main star of the show, she was totally annoying and no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't bring myself to like her.

The concept for the show was basically inanimate objects talking to an already high-strung girl, telling her to do stuff. She's college educated and works stocking shelves and doing check-out work in a souveneir shop.

I like Tim Minnear, but honestly, just because I think Firefly is great doesn't mean I'm going to like everything he does. Yeah, maybe I shouldn't have called the series a "floater", seeing that there are fans of the short-lived series.

Could someone give me a brief synopsis as to what happens in Wonderfalls?

Hard to say really. We never got to see much of the show. The first four episodes were set up just to introduce the concept and the regular characters. The seasonal arc, according to Tim, was supposed to start with episode 5 and go through 13 (the last episode). So we never got to see ANY of the season long story.

The concept really had a lot in common with "Joan of Arcadia", except that, instead of getting messages from God (like Joan), Jaye (the main character), got her messages from various wax, plastic, metal, or whatever animal figurines. Both Joan and Jaye get cryptic messages telling them to do something that doesn't make any sense to them (and that they generally don't want to do). But by the end of each episode, the purpose of the message becomes clear and usually ends up in some good deed being done and some enlightenment being visited upon the main character.

The main difference between the shows is that Wonderfalls is FUNNY. Basically, to understand what Wonderfalls is like, think of "Joan of Arcadia" and then add Tim Minear's sense of humor to it.

That's my "short" description. I'm sure other fans could probably add to that. Wonderfalls is definitely a more complex show than "Joan", so I'm sure other fans may have gotten other things out of it.
