I gotta go with FMF on this one. No sympathy for that monster.

Figuring out why it happens, so that we can stop it is a noble goal, but in the meantime, the deed is done in this case, and she needs to face the consequences.

Florida has the death penalty....good.

But before that, the ladies in the prison will do quite the numbers on her, and that will not even be enough justice for me. I hope the anguish and abuse on her lasts for many long days over many long years. With any luck, she'll get to meet her real self.

Prosecutors have already said they will not seek the death penalty.

But yeah, the other women inside will take care of things.

I know so many people who have difficulty controlling their thoughts or emotions.

"Self absorbed"?

Lot of peeps with mild autism come off that way.

"Monster"?

What about Andrea Yates? She had postpartum depression so bad she was psychotic- hearing voices. And yet, her husband pressed for child afer child... until she snapped.

Gangs?

What about the kids who grow up abused, or in such violent neighborhoods they wind up with PTSD? (We have our own homegrown "child soldiers" right here in LA.)

What I find is that the peeps who commit the most heinous crimes are usually the ones LEAST deterred by the threat of punishment, bc their brains are already too screwed up.

I know it's very natural to be horrified by what some peeople do, and then to seek vengeance. But vengeance is not the way to stop it from happening again. You might want to ponder WHY we have the highest crime rate AND the highest incarceration rate, and then go look in a mirror.

Lock her up and study her.

Get her out of society where she cannot endanger anyone and then find out WTF went wrong so we can work towards preventing it in the future.

So, when you wind up in the drunk tank on a case of mistaken identity cause your name and general description are similar to a perp, it's all ok if the other folks in there do unto you, right ?

Or how bout that dude in the Houston Police thread, since if he does any time inside it's likely to not only happen, but be encouraged by the fuckin police for not bending the knee while they abused his daughter....
