Prince Caspian: what a good fantasy flick!

This movie reminds my why the Potter movies leave me so cold: magic. Not contrived broomsticks n' s**t, this is magical film-making (apologies up front to fans of Harry- I just thought Willow & Tara did the whole witch thing better
). My son said they left too much out of the book and that the first one was better, but not having read the books, I just thought it was great. It brought me to another world, and the performances were excellent from a mostly young cast- even the CGI characters were convincing.
Anyone else see this near-masterpiece?

Chris, this is so weird, you and I must have identical Netflix queues. When you posted about Hancock, I'd just seen it. And I saw Prince Caspian last night. Oooooooh...spooky. Next for me is an older movie, The Game. If you've got that lined up I'll be buying a lottery ticket tomorrow with your birthday on it.
Anyway, yeah, it was good. The movie had me from the scene in the Badger's house.

The thing I really like about the Narnia movies is that while they have a grandness to them, they're not attempting to out-grand all other movies preceding them, a problem I had with the LOTR movies. I felt Jackson took the story & blew it up as big as he possibly could to the point where orks were crawlin' the freakin' walls- if they were THAT physically strong, how could a mere human or elf hope to combat one?
I appreciated the restraint in Narnia. Sort of made for an old-fashioned good time.
