Hey browncoats! I need your help with something. I'm a browncoat & philosophy instructor, and I'm trying to compel Open Court Publishing to publish my idea for "Firefly and Philosophy." However, I just got an email from them stating that "...while they think it's an ok idea (no Star Wars or Sex and the City and Philos.), they're not sure that there's enough of a fan base that would warrant a text on the subject of Firefly." In short, they have no idea of our mighty browncoat numbers!!!
They seriously underestimate us, and that's why I need to know if you think this is as good an idea as I do (please be honest with me), and if you do let Open Court Publishing know! Write, email, call, just do anything to let them know you'd like to see this book published please. Thanks everyone...have a shiny day!

Chex.
Show them the Amazon pages for "Finding Serenity" and "Serenity Found" and other Joss Whendon books. (one of my favs is "The Psychology of Joss Whedon" but my copy has gone missing).
Also the shiny new products from QMX, CSTS efforts, this web site and others (serenitymovie.org, serentiystuff.com and others).
And give us a link to the publishing company and a sample of the book.

One of our local Browncoats got her book published through McFarland. It's called "Faith and Choice in the Works of Joss Whedon".
I'm not sure how her sales numbers look, though.
Do you have specific contact info for Open Court?
