Ouch, that sucks. We've had several problems with our net, but it always came back. Are you sure it's not a temporary thing?
Trying to stick to looking at the bright side of things:
Without the internet, you won't really miss the better monitor 
Lots of fresh motivation to seek out a better job and/or a new location. After all, that job's been 
inducing for a while.

Forcing somebody to work at a computer all day and not allow them internet access should be banned as the cruelest form of torture that it is. I know I've been there before.
