Are you pretending to know something about economics?

Are you pretending to have reading skills of a 5th grader ? I said Romney knows about these things, and he'd be the perfect guy to have in the White House to deal w/ these issues.

Read slowly if that doesn't make sense the first time for ya .

That's as lame as it comes friend. You sound like one of those pre-election Palin bashers of the so-called Conservative ilk, George Will and Bill Kristol. They betrayed their own Party because of their own over-inflated sense of self-worth & self-importance. They were "afraid" to lose, so they hedged their bets and joined the forces of Obama in the final days. Those were the most un-kindest cuts McCain and Palin had to endure. Worse than the bias of the the NY Times, and NBC et al, the Republicans who stayed home and didn't vote for McCain have earned themselves a scarlet letter for their self-rightous indignation.

Never said I didn't vote for him, I did, He just wasn't my choice. i'd have preferred Fred Thompson or Mitt Romney. See, unlike most Americans, i can deal w/ a candidate's religious views provided their GOVERNMENT views are sound. I wasn't in the least bit scared of Romeny's Morman faith, as it seemed to not interfere w/ how much he knew about economics and the world's markets.

Sorry I did not mean to imply that you did not vote for him. I did mean to imply that the Conservative columnists who came out against Palin at the end were a contributing factor to the relatively low Republican turn-out. They make a great living spewing their ideology every day, so why couldn't they just keep their pie holes shut and support McCain/Palin anyway? Why bash her? Who did that serve? Obaama of course. Their own sense of smug rightousness trumped loyalty to the Republican candidate. Shame on them, and shame on us for ever listening to them. At least Rush & Hannity stood by them to the end.

Yep, it kinda caught me off guard. After such a nasty campaign, McCain graciously bows out and even manages to quiet the smattering of boos in the crowd. (The oddsmakers in Las Vegas were taking bets as to when McCain was going to concede, bets fluctuated by the hour from 3-1 to 8-1. No such bet was placed for Obama)

Now he was being a true Maverick. I still don't think he would have won, but it would've been close.
He allowed his campaign to be controlled by his managing staff, instead of him running things.

I don't believe for a minute he would have picked Palin in normal circumstances, but he was desparate to win. His people (Rove? Cheney?) had him run on the FEAR ticket disguised as the Maverick ticket. Both he and Palin were following the script verbatim. Scare 'em sh*tless and they'll follow you anywhere. It ran it's course.

Shiny! Let's be bad guys!

As soon as the day started, a student of mine expressed the same idea. He said "If McCain had been the same guy durring the campaign that he was for his concession, things would have gone differently".

I don't know if that was nessesarily true, but I do have to admit that the concession speech was moving.

"I thoroughly disapprove of duels. If a man should challenge me, I would take him kindly and forgivingly by the hand and lead him to a quiet place and kill him."
