Seroiusly! It is fricken' snowing out right now and has been since yesterday!!!!!

DAMNIT!

*sets up the Breakfast Bar*

Hope it is warm somewhere!

(sets out a -1.11C Dew and an M&M Ice Cream Sammich' for the Sneaky One)

If there is a winter item you prefer Sneaky Lass let me know!

And I don't want to hear that I have it coming for saying snow yesterday either! If that were the case I would be running around saying "It's too fricken' hot out" until it was 80+ out!

Belly up to the Bar Boys and Girls! I have Hot Toddies and warm Cider for the sipping!

well we only have snow up in Scotland at the mo but down hear we had crisp, blue sky frosty morning, followed by overcast, follwed by hail, now followed by drizzly rain that soaks everything.

And been running around like a lunatic all day as the layer of IT above me have imposed a new antivirus setup that doesn't work properly on our Macs, need a cup of tea and a footrub, instead have to go home, fix a drum and audition a vocalist, please let her be good, vocalists are a real pain to find.

We are supposed to be in the 70's all week, which is great for Friday night, got little ones to get around before they get frozen, so I can steal their candy when they're not looking. Why CAN'T grownups trick or treat? I like candy too!

It's been gorgeous here, for the most part. Starting to get chillier than I really like, but it's been bright and clear and sometimes creeping back to being warm.
But it's Colorado, which means it will snow on October 31st. It always does. Very occasionally the first snow will come before that day, but for the entirety of my childhood it would be sunny and mild in the week leading up to the big night, and then I'd be tramping around in bitter cold and snowy conditions asking for candy with a coat over my costume I learned to costume myself in layers eventually.

You may say I'm a dreamer. But I'm not the only one.

Not sure about the hate Sneaky Lass. I am pretty hateful of the stuff! Been known to take a blowtorch to it on occasion just to prove I am stronger!

It has pretty much let up for the moment. It is rare for the snow to not happen here at least a coulpe days before Halloween so no big. It is supposed to be in the mid 50s on Friday so that is a plus. Got a Darth Vader at home and she demands candy for herself and her little brother Yoda.

Hallo dear Kitten, how are you? Sorry to hear about your job stresses earlier. I can relate to a certain extent. Not that it's a highly technical job with room for much advancement, nor have I been there too terribly long (though basically the entire staff has changed since I started) but I have been ridiculously tempted to quit at least five times in the last two weeks, and I've only been in there eight shifts. They should feel fortunate they have someone working there who shows up every shift, and actually comes back to work from vacation. But basically all I get is bitched at.
Wow, that turned into a rambly rant, sorry about that. It's the most frustrating aspect of my life at the moment, which I guess isn't the worst thing I could be saying about life. things are going fairly well, all things considered.
Yes I am greatly looking forward to November, but moreso to January, when the actual regime change will take effect.

And hey, I just actually got outside, and it's about seventy right now; feels like late spring.

No, I think Nevada has pretty clearly been free of snow (or rain, as MsB also pointed out) all day. As has Colorado.

I will have pictures of the gorgeous day and the elk who have moved in to the neighborhood a block down from mine sometime in the next week

So do you hand out candy Sneaky Lass? If so are you dressing up? (not sure how apartment complexes work with stuff like that)

Good morning Kelkhil! It is a very slow morning around here isn't it?

Sorry about the weather comparisons. Really, you don't want this heat. Having to run your AC the last week of Octoboer is all kinds of wrong. On the plus side I won't have to bundle up for Halloween I guess. But some rain out here really would be nice -- we're into the Santa Ana Winds season, which means high fire risk, especially with as little rain as we've had. OTOH, I'm vitamin D deficient so I'm not really complaining about the sunshine... I'm just a bundle of contradictions aren't I?

Anyhow, since HK and I are the same person, I'll go ahead and answer the question for my half. Not handing out candy this year, and we usually don't get many trick or treaters anyhow. I will be wearing a costume to a party Friday night though, so that'll be fun.

I hate children. Why would I give them MYYYYY candy??? XD
I was at my old apartment for Halloween and had one kid knock on my door. I just happened to be wearing a pair of devil horns and my all black contact lenses. He screamed and ran back down the hall to mommy and daddy. ((shrug)) So that put an end to that.

No, dear, what you have checked is not the point.

If I check that box in my reply to you, you do not get notified.

Ah, back on the cortex, yesterday went to log onto work and was getting all kinds of errors, so being the tech support guy I am went and found out that my router had died. so after much waling/ screaming at electronics/bank fundage, was able to get a router and get back on, but that took ALL FREAKING DAY!!! Hence no posts, but it's not like I over post anyway. So now back, to work and here.
Looking forward to the first Halloween where it is warm enough to trick or treat the kids without 17 layers of clothes and coats.

I need to get out. Bad. If I don't get out soon I'm going to break a coffee pot against her head or something.
It continues to be bright and warm here! I'm still expecting snow tomorrow, but less so than I have been. Have a cleansing ceremony to do, so I have extra reason to hope it stays nice.

First and foremost, to annoy you.

Second, if you're reading a long thread that poses questions, and you actually read the whole thing before responding - you know, so you don't sound like an idiot by saying the exact same thing as the ten previous posts - sometimes it's just easier to hit "reply" once you get to the bottom. But since you don't necessarily mean to reply to the last guy, since he probably doesn't give a flying fuck what you have to say, you can choose not to notify that guy. It's a courtesy thing. I've had plenty of people "reply" to my post even though their reply had absolutely nothing to do with me or my post, which I find to be both pointless and annoying, and is part of the reason I no longer check the "notify me" box.

And third, to annoy you.

Perfectly legal sex!

..wait, that takes all the fun out of it...

...well, not *all* the fun...

Tell NV to get a move on.. I want some eBabies to coo over!

(Best of luck to you both in your lives together.)

I found this thread this morning. Halloween was uneventful. I was going to spend yesterday in quiet meditation, maybe do a little ritual... spent it doing errands instead, but I made a helluva beer/potato/cheese soup. "Samhain Soup" is kinda catchy..

Magda! Snow! Yay!
If I'd known you'd never seen it falling I'd have told you to come visit me. You can't avoid the damned stuff from mid-November until early April or thereabouts. It often snows before Oct 31 (this week for example..) It usually snows around Mother's Day for a final puncutation mark.

Gee: Lemme summup. Halloween= dressing up funny, massive quantities of refined sugar, staying out past your bedtime, sugar, scaring yourself silly for the fun of it, sugarsugarsugar, festive decor, more sugar, parties, again with the sugar, pranks if you have inattentive parents, and SUGAR.

Pagans just like it 'cause.

My mom was keyboards and vocals, but she's in Seattle now. I'd offer to help you out with the singing thing, but getting over there for gigs (who practices?!) could be kind of rough. As in, not actually working. Good luck finding someone with a decent set of pipes who isn't a diva.

I'm looking forward to Nov 4 because I took the whole day off just so I can stand in line to vote. Also, because it's my birthday.

Wish you all the best for the future.

I've just returned from town, which surprisingly was not hell and we all of a sudden without trying we have half our shopping for the dreaded c word.

As for halloween, I think the issue is that having not grown up with the tradition I resent having my door rang, it's not even the question of giving stuff to the kids just very protective of my personal space at home and don't really do too much sugar by hey ho, all good now.

Off to fall asleep in front of TV

It's freezing, well 17 centigrade in our office this morning, sat in my coat working.

Had a very quiet weekend, which was nice and we somehow whilst ambling round the city centre on Saturday got half our Christmas shopping done, which I'm particularly weirded out to discover.

only other news is that I have been challenged by other half to knit myself a Jayne hat (she says she won't let me wear it but we'll see) so I shall have to start some internet research and see if I can remember how, (I could knit at one point, I'm sure I can again)

Change of plans this morning. Instead of taking the car in for an oil change and getting the snow tires put on and balanced on one of my precious vacation days, hubby did that and I stayed home with a sick kid! Whee!

He hasn't voluntarily taken a nap since he was four. I told him to go rest quietly in bed around 1:00. He woke up a little before 5:00. Sick. Sicksicksick.

We had the plumber in. He'll be making vents that actually work, as opposed to sending swamp gas up through the shower stall and washing machine drains. Yay!

Our bow saw is all bendy in the blade. No sumac tree hacking up for me. It had grown partway through a stone wall foundation and then decided to fall over and take the corner with it. Now it's halfway across the side yard and a good foot in diameter at the trunk. (I have called the arborist. He has not called back yet.) I know better than to attempt to use my father's electric chainsaw. The last time he used it the chain decided to come off while in use.

I'm babbling.

Barkeep! Something that goes well with the plum wine I'm drinking!

Ok now that the norm is complete I have a request of me patrons..........

As you all are fully aware (I hope) today is voting day. Go out and vote. Contribute to Democracy. But PLEASE leave it out there! Do not bring the conversation into me Pub. I would like very much for this to be a "Haven" to those who do not want to talk about "their" candidate and such.

As I have said before and I will reiterate now, I do not talk politics with friends. There are many out there that are the same. There are many reasons for it.

A) It's none of you business who I vote for
B) Arguments over politics (like religion) among friends can ruin a friendship
C) Family never talked about it openly so now they don't either.
D) It's none of you Fuckin' business!! (did I mention that one already???)

Seriously though, don't bring it in here. First off I have already cast my lot so you cannot persuade me to your cause. Secondly I have researched all the topics to my satisfaction and there is nothing that can be said to change my opinion (not that I will tell you what it is) to something else. Thanks! [/rant]

NOW THEN>>>
