Morning all! I got my first honest vote in, will get another one later.

Hows everybody doing? I'm good, weather is nice, upper 30's at night and upper 60's in the day. We are going to have a dry and warm Halloween!! For us that is not normal, poor kids usually have to wear a coat to trick-or-treat.

Jericho has several very dedicated fans who spend all day voting on various sites. With their putting in six votes at a time, it's hard to keep up at our one-at-a-time rate, even if we had voters with as much free time (no life?) as they do.

We're getting hammered even worse at weekinwhedon.

As for the TVTally cheating, I'm not so sure. When I started voting there last year I was doing so on a system that had the cookies turned off. I thought six votes at a time was the way it was supposed to be. Only later did I find out that it was "cheating." When is a bug not a feature?

Manipulating the cookies so as to cast more votes seems a bit underhanded. IMHO, Browncoats tend to take the high road but everyone is different and we've certainly seen people take advantage of situations.
Remember the fiasco of Flanvention when hundreds of fans were cheated out of hundreds of dollars by low-down dirty deceivers? Voting on a website doesn't quite come down to that level but an opportunity to show the world that the Browncoats can "hold the valley" honestly against the odds is an opportunity worth taking.

Integrity means just as much with small actions as with large ones.

I'm not talking about integrity. I'm pointing out that the TVTally site is not maintained, and that most people do not make a beeline for the docs when they come upon a website. First time I showed up, I just started clicking. Whose got time to go looking for any site docs. Few people do. Remember how many voters at TVVote didn't realize you could vote for more than one show per hour? I saw that being pointed out all the time.

The way TVTally is currently configured, you can vote three times every six hours with cookies, and six times every six hours without cookies. That's how this site works for most people. Actually, that's how it works for anyone who bothers to find out how the site works.

I did go check out the message boards. The absent site owners (someone is paying for this site to remain open) have been told, for more than a year, that there are, "undocumented" voting techniques. Never been an answer. In a situation like that, you are left to use the site "as is." And "as is", with your cookies off, you get to vote six times every six hours.

The Jericho fans are willing to use the sire "as is" and they are hammering us. Using the site "as it is supposed to be, but shows no signs of becoming" is a losing proposition.

But it is a good opportunity to take the moral high ground over, not much.
