Anyone else worried about the new Star Trek movie?

Roberto Orci, and Alex Kurtzman are the writers for the film. I just found this out. They have such hits as the Transformers(which to me seemed like a jumbled mess with good action) and Alias(which I never liked).
How can these relative unknowns helm one of Sci-Fi's biggest franchises? I'm worried, and I feel if your a Trekkie you should also have concern

As far as Transformers goes, I think that was more the director than anything else. I was never interested in Alias, but I've been watching Fringe, and it's actually pretty good. So I'm keeping an open mind about Star Trek.

Love Fringe, but I wouldn't woory too much about Star Trek. The first movie was a complete disaster and they made several more (I think 5 in all).
There's nothing that can sink that franchise.

This is the eleventh Star Trek movie. Add that to the five live action series and the animated series, and that's a lot of sci-fi. You can't kill Star Trek.
For anyone that's confused about it, this movie isn't throwing out the old Star Trek. Spock is going back in time.

Worried? Lord, yes - it hasn't written in months and has stopped returning my calls! 
But seriously, I've seen a couple of eps of Fringe, and its most glaring weakness to me so far is the writing...though rightly or wrongly, I kinda see it as an attempt (along with Eleventh Hour) to rehash X-Files, and am therefore likely prejudiced. I like the characters, though...
It was like that when we got here!

Relative unknowns? Kurtzman and Orci both have careers as writers and producers that go back a decade! If nothing else, both were writers/producers for ALIAS, which had a very successful 5-year run.
That's more experience than Joss Whedon had when he started the Buffy the Vampire Slayer show (and certainly more than he had when he wrote the movie) and more than George Lucas had when he started one of the most influencial sci fi franchises in history.

I think the new Star Trek movie has great potential. Of course I've said the same thing about the previous 10 Star Trek movies. This one is special due to the new cast. We shall see.

Yup, and can you recommend me one thing they have written(I hate Alias) that will change my mind........?
