Honestly, I was more than a little surprised. She actually managed to speak in complete sentences!
Of course, she DID give the authority over U.S. forces in Afghanistan to a long-dead Civil War general (McClellan), but what can you do? You go to war with the army you have. Or had.
Or something like that.
All in all, in a rather unfortunate way, she won. By NOT being a complete blithering idiot on stage, she exceeded expectations by a huge margin.
She never once answered a question substantively, but any student of politics knows that no politician will ever do that, lest they be lynched.
She stuck to talking points, and sad but true, the American people vote style over substance at every single chance.
If it were a debate on issues, Biden won hands down. But on style and zingers (and creepy winks), it goes to Palin.

I *DID* have to wonder what the hell she was talking about when she brought up her record on women's rights. Certainly she wasn't talking about their right to choose, because she's against that in all cases. And it wasn't about a rape victim's right to have her attacker prosecuted, because Palin signed off on charging the victim to investigate the crime.
So what "women's rights" has she defended, anyway? A woman's "right" to be a baby factory? A woman's "right" to be a rape victim, and to just lie there and enjoy it?
