Browncoat Conversion Idea:

With banks failing left and right because of the liquidity shortages that they are faciing, I wonder if we could make the Qmx Money Packs legal tender. If we could flood the economy with Qmx Serenity Bank Heist Money, we could bail out the banks and promote the Serenity cause.

A currency reform proposal? In the US? Where we won't even switch to dollar coins even though they are far more practical than bills? Not going to happen.

That's a great idea, but I agree with Dave ( I know it's shocking -- promise it will only happen this one time! ) I doubt that this country could handle something so unusual and different. Although, I did nearly die of shock when I saw the new presidential dollar coins, which I assume are just a limited time offer?

The dollar coins are a limited time offer, like the state quarters. Lots of people collect the state quarters but not so many collect the presidential dollar coins. They are being released in order that the President served but won't include any living ex-Presidents.

i actually have an original bill that the serenity money was copied off of. so, i wasn't too impressed with the money pak....

Yeah, I have an "Alliance Bill" that came with my Serenity Ships Papers set as the "cash fee suplement" (bribe), and the paper is very much like a thin card stock and doesn't feel like money at all.

I suppose that is fine for movie production cuz the audience sure as hell can't touch it. But, I wish Qmx had made it out of a more money-like paper for the collector crowd.

That is because now paper money is made of cloth. Linen I think. 500 years from now in another solar system...Core planets have no need of paper money. But the Alliance needed it for the outer planets and somebody dug up the computer records of old Earth and found references to paper money. So the Alliance made cashy money out of paper... Not electronic paper like Badger had in the episode Serenity.
