Sorry I hope this isn't a duplicate post. I've tried checking previous posts as well as the ones in the archives and there doesn't seem to be any. But anyhow, do we have a nickname or do we all prefer not to have one? Personally, I prefer to have one 'cause it shows that this Firefly is worthy enough to establish a strong fan base. Anyway, here they are:

- Fire-Starters

- Fireflyers

- Flyers

- Fireflites

- Serenites

Feel free to recommend some 'cause some of these are kinda weak.

Cheers!

Herez what I think of the names:

- Fire-Starters - Thatz what Kelly refers to us at http://www.fox.com/firefly/weblog.htm Is that official? It sounds pretty cool. Problem is, when I hear the word 'Firestarter', I think of Prodigy's song or Drew Barrymore's 1980s film.

- Fireflyers - not too crazy about it. It rhymes too much with firefighters

- Flyers - not too crazy about this one either. It reminds me of newspapers

- Fireflites - this one sounds alright

- Serenites - sounds it bit too much of a female thing. But thatz not a bit thing. Itz just that Firefly is a male/female thing.

Anyone have any ideas?

Actually, there was a post on this. I think the generally accepted term is Fireflies, which I like. Mostly the thread was about how there is no general consensus on what Buffy/Angel fans are called. I think we decided that a Firefly that was also a Buffoholic was a Whedonist, because it rhymed with Hedonist.

The correct term is "Insects." Just ask any Dark Angel fan.

Nah, honestly, I've been going with "fireflies" and "firebugs" personally.

I quite like "Browncoat" , it is unique, as Dark Angel fan I was a "Freak" and I think having an obscure name related to the show shows your appreciation and commitment more than a generic one.

And "Firefly" just seems so boring

Kelly just seems to invent names for us off the top of her head. In her last post she called us brown coats.

If anyone cares, I vote for "fireflies." It's simple, yet nifty.
