Hey, I voted Libertarian back in 2000. Of course, back then, they weren't overrun w/ the Far Left , terrorist lovers they have in charge now.
You ever notice how anyone who ISN'T AuRaptor seems to get labelled a "terrorist lover"? He's like the right-wing version of PirateNews. Where PN sees Jews behind every burning bush, 'Rappy sees terrorist-lovers!

I can't help the sinking feeling that my country is now being run by people who read "1984" not as a cautionary tale, but rather as an instruction manual. - Michael Mock

And I would not count Charlton Heston out...I've seen that man do miracles before.
Put it this way - If Chuckton rises from the dead, I'll be right there waiting, stake in hand, to put him back in the ground where he belongs.

You really have no clue of what you speak, Citizen. Your ignorance of the differences between the Country Club Republicans, the Religious Right and the true Conservatives is obvious, as you falsly feel the need to group them all into one big pile. Reagan was a proponent of Freedom, not terrorism. And yes, he's my measuring stick.

Right back atcha, champ - your ignorance of the differences between varous camps of liberalism and Democratic party members is obvious, as you falsely feel the need to group them all into one big pile and call them "terrorist lovers".
Who was it Reagan supported in Afghanistan? What were they called?

First, you falsly assume I put ALL Dems into the same pile. I meant no such thing. Joe Liebermann, ( yeah, he's a Dem ) never wanted us to lose. Those who did want us to lose in Iraq/ Afghanistan are, imo, terrorist lovers.
Reagan supported those who wanted to repell the Soviet expansion. You might want to rent Charlie Wilson's War , if you have a problem remembering what that fuss was all about.

I have a clue of what I'm talking about, I just don't buy into your data filters, and I don't agree with you. It's time you learnt that there aren't two types of people in the world, people who agree with you, and people who don't know what they're talking about. Simply put, AU, you aren't the most intelligent person who ever lived, you're not god, and your opinion isn't fact. It gets boring to hear you say time after time, that you've provided facts that prove everyone wrong, when all you done is stated your own opinion.
At any rate. Regan supported the Taliban and groups that became Al Qaeda, you can start bitching about the evil empire all you want, but it doesn't make them any less terrorists. It's fun for you to display compartmentalised thinking yet again, but I'm not going to buy into it. Regan's economic policy was bullshit, and it's cemented a growing inequality within American society.
As for not knowing the difference between different types of Republicans? I think I manage to get a more accurate picture than you do. As an outsider I have no particular emotional investment in your political system, but in this age of globalisation, and instantaneous global data exchange I have the same access to sources that you do. The Republican party has steadily moved further toward the far right as it's base doctrine over the last thirty years. Republican Moderates and 'real conservatives' are well on the fringe of the Republican party, at best. It's becoming increasingly dominated by far right and evangelical thinking. Sarah Palin that you keep parading around as a "real American" has evangelical connections, and she believes creationism has a place in science class. That is the central hypocrisy within your own position, you rightly proclaim that Intelligent Design is bunk, that creationism isn't science and shouldn't be taught as such, then promptly refuse to see that in the Republican Vice Presidential candidate who embodies it so nicely. Time and again you refuse to see the slightest fault or failure in the Republican party, it's like they're gods among men to you. Hell, one reason I hope to see Obama win, is so that I can see one of the most pro-Government members of this forum turn anti-government faster than one of PirateNews's mood swings.
If you truly wanted to stop the rise of home grown Christian Fundamentalism, if you really wanted to oppose Creationist 'Science', you wouldn't be blindly following the Republican party like a happy little true believer. You'd be questioning the Republicans at least half as much as you do the Democrats, you wouldn't be sticking your fingers in your ears and proclaiming anyone who disagrees with you is ignorant and stupid. For all your anti-fundamentalist talk you exhibit the behaviours of a fundamentalist in spades, it's just your religion happens to be the Republican Party.
If you've read this far without skipping a word, you probably need absolution. Say three Hail Bushes and kneel before the alter or Rove, and all questions will be absolved.
More insane ramblings by the people who brought you beeeer milkshakes!
No one can see their reflection in running water. It is only in still water that we can see.

No, no trouble remembering - I lived through it, read the book, and saw the movie. I just wondered if you remembered what those "freedom fighters" were called. I guess you don't...
Also, I don't "falsely assume" you put all Democrats in the same pile. You DO put them all in the same pile. Well, apparently except for Droopy Dog Lieberman (Bowzy-wowzy-boo-boo!)...

When it comes to kneeling before Rove, I think 'Rappy's a Log-Cabin Republican!

So, I do put them all in the same pile, but not ALL ?? Seriously, look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself....why is it that the VP candidate for the Democratic party from just 8 yrs ago, is now speaking at the GOP convention? It's because the DNC has taken a humongous Left turn, away from Joe Lieberman.

So, making fun of gays and their life styles is off limits, until it suits your purpose, right ?
Hypocrite, thy name is Liberal.
Fact is, it was a woman's right activist who offered that very 'act' to Bill Clinton, supposidly because he "kept abortion legal " , which he obviously had no hand in. Oh well.
