Obama's big central theme of his entire Primary campaign that defeated Hillary was about Iraq. Pulling out of Iraq asap was his mantra. Also strong and solid issue about the "rush" to war, legality, etc. ALL goes away with BIden. Christ, he's McCains #1 fan. He has praised McCain over and over, said he'd be honored to ever run on a ticket with him; and Biden's also sharply bashed and shredded Obama all during the Debates. Also, all the "good old" Biden scandal stuff from the '88 campaign comes back to play. Even Susan Estrich says that, and she was right there running Dukakis' campaign.
Truthfully, for me, I have NO problem with Biden if he became VP, or even P one day because I've always found him to be a very likeable, witty, and charming guy. And he's always been strong on national defense. This pick actually makes me feel less worried about Obama, but I think Obama just alienated a whole lot of his followers by picking Biden. Did they even consider Hillary for VP? Still, Biden's a wise choice because he can be an effective campaigner and he is a statesman of high standing, but somewhere out there in Soros/MoveOn land there gottta be some un-happy people.

Of course they're saying that, they need a story. The MSM isn't about reporting what's going on in the world and informing people, it's about telling stories that'll help improve ratings.

I don't know where you come up with that. People that have run and been involved in Presidential campaigns say this is how things are done. Demographics and polls determine where the money gets spent and who it's targeted at. It's very calculating and scientific on both sides. Whatever the media report on is always a little before or after the fact, but I don't dismiss it as purely ratings fodder.

I know a bit about polling, most of them are rubbish. It doesn't help if the media cherry-picks the polls that support their narrative and ignores all the ones that don't.
