How did you discover Firefly?

I never saw the Series when it ran.
I didn't see the movie when it came out.
One day I saw Firefly & Serenity listed as "Suggestions" from Amazon. I read the reviews. Firefly & Serenity had the best reviews I'd ever seen of anything, ever, so I ordered them both.

I actually discovered it after it had come and gone. I think I maybe heard about it once on an advertisement but of course fox didn't promote it well at all so it didn't catch my interest.

So then the guy that had gotten me addicted to buffy and angel mentioned there was this other show by joss which was also excellent, and he lent me the discs. I went through them in about a day and have been hooked since.

I first heard about Firefly when voting for The Pretender on a poll. I watched a few minutes online, but I'm going to hold out and watch the series and movie when my DVDs arrive. I can't wait!

I discovered it when it aired but my now ex husband wouldn't watch it... then it came out on dvd and I was so excited. I got all my friends into it and then I found FFF through my friend Marnii and ... joy ensued:)

Saw only 1 episode during the regular airings (Ariel), then got hooked when it made it's original run in Sci-Fi. Ordered my 1st set of the DVDs after seeing Bushwacked.

Ahh yes. The good ol' days. Saw the promotions on F*X for Firefly. Looked HI-larious. Been hooked from Day One. Funny rememberin' my soon-to-be ex-wife would see me watching those episodes over and over. She would always tell me, "Again? Don't you ever get tired of that show?" Yet, no matter which ep I was watching (whether live or rerun or recorded), she'd always sit down to watch it with me. And she did enjoy them, every time.

I saw "Train Job" back in 2002 when it originally aired on a Wednesday night. I thought it had an interesting concept, and I wanted to see more. However, the show was immediately moved to Friday nights (along with "John Doe"), and the job I work at the time had me working on Friday nights so I couldn't watch it. Plus, my grandfather just died and my brother just joined the army during wartime, so I really wasn't interested in starting a new TV show at the time.

Cut to 2006. I'm moving out of my ghetto apartment (seriously, it was in the ghetto) into a much nicer place. The same brother is helping me with the move, and he gives me his copy of the box set. He was introduced to the show while he was in Iraq. I watched all of episodes and special features over the weekend while I was unpacking, and the fallowing Monday I went out, rented, and thoroughly enjoyed the BDM. After I finished the DVD, I sent my brother a text message that said, "Fox execs are going to the Special Hell." I've been a browncoat from that moment on.

I found Firefly through SERENITY, which is another reason why Universal should have a sequel to our BDM. We are gaining in numbers and Si/Fi looks to be on the rise again. More moola.

I remember seeing the original ads for Firefly on Fox and though it looked interesting the whole "space hooker" thing threw me a bit. I tuned in for the "pilot" which Fox had ordered Joss to replace the actual pilot, and saw "The Train Job".

I'll admit I was a bit lost at first. The opening scene in the bar was good, but what was this war they were talking about? Why were both sides so worked up about it? Why were these characters together on this ship & how did they come to be here? The episode just didn't set the stage well for me.

I wasn't sold on the episode until near the end of the episode when Mal kicked Crow through Serenity's port engine. I was stunned at first, but busted out laughing when Mal starts to talk to the second thug and his reaction was priceless. I knew from that moment I was onboard. Been a fan ever since.
